He's not a big time charlie , always comes across as a decent fella, in the grand scheme of things.

The Shirt sales, Commercial revenues and other associated incomes from signing a proper global football Super Star would go some way to paying off that massive transfer fee.

Also, what a statement of intent that would be for the club. Signing a Real Madridista in his prime. He's 24 yrs old.

It won't happen. Despite him being the perfect profile, age, talent etc I just don't see the club investing that amount of money in one player.

Also we need to bring in players with Champions League experience. Not just playing in it but being experienced in the later stages, understanding the pressure and thriving under those conditions.

Tripz's experience have seen us win our first cup in 70 yrs.

Whilst Mbuemo is an excellent player. He can go on to be a decorated UCL player in time but at 25 he's a year old and have zero UCL experience.

That is, I guess, why, Mbuemo is valued at ?55-60m & Rodrygo is valued at ?85m.

If Brentford want north of ?60m, I'd absolutely consider Rodrygo a better option.

Rodrygo's wages are ?205/week.

However, as mentioned, the commercials around the shirt sales and sponsorship deals that would be attracted to the club would off set it.

I doubt it's even a consideration for club, However, City had their Robinho/super star moment.
We will need to take that next step up. Certainly Rodrygo isn't Robinho and we'd not be gazumping another club to steal his signature.

If NUFC could get him on a Loan to Buy based on re-qualification to the UCL 26/27 season (two in a row - after next season) that might be doable financially.

Be very surprised if we were to blow the majority of our budget on a single player.

I get it. Hence the title. It's an absolute non-starter. However, we're at that stage where a player of his profile is a possibility.

If you look at the players still being linked with the filth. There are still a lot of A-Tier players simply due to reputation.

We have to be looking at signing from that pool of players.

Of course we need to be cautious of overspending and being PSR punished. However, "Shy bairns get nowt" as my Grandad & Mrs John Gibson says.

We paid £63m for Isak. £59m for Tonali. World class internationally recognised Premier League stars who also star for their nations.

However, Rodrygo is on a different level in terms of international profile.

There is a 'closed shop' of 'legacy clubs' between which the top tier of players seem to cycle between. Henry left Arsenal for Barcelona for £15m. He'd not have signed for Newcastle back then even if we'd have put £40m on the table.

Our transfer policy/strategy has been growing and developing. Tripz through to Tonali, Via Bruno & Isak.

I know that Mitchell's skills are focused on the acquisition of Top Tier youth who have just had the break through year in Europe or are about to have their break through year.

That is great and the model we absolutely should be working with. However, that model is set up to enable the club to grow value in our squad talent pool, lower the average age and give the club a sustainable future with options to generate revenues by selling squad players as and when required.

It also enables the club to got out and by the Brunos, Tonalis & Isaks. The next step is a Rodrygo.

As I said, it won't happen, we won't even go in for him I doubt, however, that would be the one statement signing that would send shock waves through the football establishment for sure!

It?s a good discussion but I agree it?s a lot of money on one player (however good). Our squad remains thin and with some first teamers getting on a bit, I think we need to consider quantity as well as quality.
The cartel promoted PSR means that players like Rodrigo can only realistically go to the high earning (cartel) clubs because it?s too risky for other clubs to buy him.
Our day will come for purchases like this but for now we need 3-4 first team reinforcements and then with our hot prospects coming through we should be looking good in a couple of seasons. Its critical we keep EH and that Mitchel now steps up to the plate as well.

To put things in perspective, the filth have put a ?65m price tag on Garnacho... let that sink in.

For ?20m more you can acquire a full Brazilian international, champions league & la liga winner.

?85m ? by the 5 Yr contract = ?17mil

So with bonuses and agents fees the whole deal will absorb around ?20m from this year's budget.

We have to be looking at a budget of around ?80‐120m after no spending anything for over a year.

It won't happen but we can afford and still have money for geuhi @ ?45m which is quoted (45?5=?9m) & a striker for around ?40m (40?5=?8m)

About ?45m expense booked for this tax year.

Then a couple of sales like for like willock and longstaff out for example and two replacements in.

It's doable. I just don't see us doing it.

The other question is, aside from city where else would Rodrygo go? Psg have Krava & Demeble as wide men and the Qataris are cutting right back on the ir spending since the world cup has been and gone. Plus they're sniffing around spurs so in future I would expect be surprised if they pretty much defend PSG or it becomes a feeder club.

Real's Andriy Lunin is looking for a move with Villa watching. Might be worth a look wants to be No1.
