Ex-Man Utd sporting director Ashworth to return to FA

Former Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth is set to be unveiled as the Football Association's head of elite men's and women's development.

Ashworth left Manchester United in December having spent just five months at Old Trafford, after Ineos hired him from Newcastle United.

The 54-year-old was previously at the FA between 2012 and 2018 - in charge of England's elite men's and women's teams as well as FA education and coaching.

Part of Ashworth's new role will be to oversee the development of homegrown coaches.

What a gravy train he has hitched on to!! You could not make it up.

It just goes to prove how poor the England set up must be as regards assessing potential important staff appointments.

How does he get away with it.

The article I read stated that 'Ashworth regrets leaving Newcastle'.

Let's just remember how it all went down shall we.

1. Ineos jump ahead of his Excellency Sheikh Jasim bin Hamad Al Thani as the Glazer's preferred investor. The Qatari's wanted to buy the Glazers out. Only 2 of the 4 Glazers, the minor shareholders, wanted to sell out. So The Glazers played the Qatari's against Ineos to increase their offer for 27.7% to £1.25bn

2. In the background Dave Brailsford tapped up Omar Berrada from the City Group, where he was 4th or 5th in the Exec tree. Not someone that City Group really miss. Berrada was given a Ineos email address and began working on putting together the Executive team.

3. Brailsford, a long time friend of Ashworth instructed Berrada to bring in Ashworth.

4. After being contacted via an official Ineos email address, Ashworth divulged sensitive privileged information. A clear breach of contract and grounds for legal action.

5. The little worm, goes on to essentially do a 'Cabaye' and requested gardening leave. The club, NUFC, didn't instigate any of this.

6. The Filth's sacking testicle sack, goes on a 5 month publicity tour defaming and insulting Newcastle for their 'small club mentality' and making the dumbest comments, despite being the head of a global business group which generates Billions in Revenue annually, regarding 'Never having heard of Gardening leave before in his life. How preposterous that a direct rival wouldn't be delighted to hand over a key Executive team member responsible for the future vision and recruitment plans.'

7. Ashworth in tandem threatens league action against Newcastle United for their refusal to end the Gardening Leave he, himself requested/demanded.

He was mentioned around a few other Prem Clubs, Arsenal took a look and decided he wasn't a good fit. Perhaps there was some calls made to former Arsenal Commercial manager, Peter Silverstone, to get the background on Ashworth. Regardless. After failing to get a job at any other Premier League club, as every club saw his true colours when he join Newcastle from Brighton only to jump ship almost immediate, for the filth.

Ashworth not a team player, he's a self-interested snake that no club could rely on.

So, like all who fail in the private sector, Ashworth goes scuttling off back to the Public sector to take a government job on 10x less money.

Of course he regrets leaving Newcastle United Executive salary

The man's an overhyped muppet. Perfect for the FA, a useless, theorist who does flatters to deceive and delivers very little in reality.

The FA love him. He cut and pasted the Spanish and French model of development. So, the hacks milking cash at the FA who have zero clue what innovation looks like look at him like some kind of genius.

The FA is run as a Kakistocracy, much like The UK right now.
