I noticed when the full time whistle went on sunday and the team found out we were in the champions league he stood with his hands on his hips and watched as everyone else celebrated..

I liked this.. this showed so much maturity.. we had just been utterly atrocious and lost to Everton, he knew that..

Sadly I think hes played his last competitive game for us, for me he was our best signing of the takeover era.. not for quality but for experience and being level headed.. I'd like to see him stay one more season

Great spot on that - I'd missed it.

If he does go - he goes with our massive thanks.

He was the first that took the plunge and his steadiness and calm head has seen us through many things.

I'm not personally convinced he'll be off myself though.

Be a shame to see him go.

He's not the player he was but is still, imo, a very capable back up and his experience and nouse is something nobody else can offer in the squad.

His experience would be massive in mentoring Tino and Hall, and with CL football next season we will need that, and we rotate to get the most of his time on the pitch when we need it most.

Was at the Cambridge game when he made his debut, and even though we lost with Bruce's unfit dross, his experience and reading of the game was obvious.

That experience was ***** in staying up and convincing other players to join at a very uncertain time. He was the modern day (and England international) version of Brian Kilcline under Keegan and will always be fondly remembered. I also hope he has one more year left in him with us but understand if he needs to move on or the club think his time is up.

I think there's a job for him to do here initially in the squad for at least a season, if only coming off the bench.

But eventually i think he would develop into a good coach under E.H., perhaps beginning with the youngsters and working with the lads coming through to prepare them for the first team.

In short he would be good at this club for many a season.

Yes. He is the Brian Kilcline in this revival. Hes been instrumental in our recent success - what a great player.

I always recall his attitude when the captaincy was taken from him and handed to Bruno.

He was the first to congratulate Bruno and he's always given Bruno his full backing.

This I think was a subtle move at the time because Bruno was really making a name for himself, and with the rumours of the cartel clubs wanting to poach him, and it would have been easy for his head to have been turned, no matter how loyal he appeared to be. Giving him the armband then would have gone a long way to really tying the knot to the club with him and I'm sure both Eddie and Tripps knew this.
