Footballers wages.

My opinion of this is that they have, over the past few years particularly got right out of hand and are on the way to ruining the game, mainly for the second tier clubs and those hoping to improve theirs squads to give the cartel of "darlings" a challenge.

Just look at the way a decent player, which we were after has quickly had his head turned by money. Mbuemo gone from Brentford, earning about 50 grand per week which is 2.5 million a year to Manure and on 200 grand per week , which is over 10 million per annum.

There's no guarantee at Manure, if he falls out with the management that he will be a regular starter, or if he has a bad period of injury and loss of form, where does he go from there, and who can afford his wages.

Isn't it time there was a sensible cap on these wages of say 150,000 pounds per week which is the huge sum of 7.8 million a year.

Which poor soul can't manage on that, even after tax.

I can even remember the good old days in the 1950's when Jimmy Hill and Johnny Haynes were fighting the F.A. to give the players 1,000 pounds per year.

A short while before that in the late 1940's they had been on 9 quid a week during the season and reduced to 7 quid per week off season.

I totally understand your/out frustration as fans at the cast sums of money that is paid to players. I was, for a long time, in favour of a salary cap or some form controls. However, the more I thought about it and looked at who would benefit the most from capping salaries I completely changed my mind.

We live in a free market society. We can, like myself, take my skills and education from one market the UK where my value is lower than here in the Middle East and relocate to get paid what I am worth.

Staying in the Uk where some d!ck with an 3rd rate English degree who's dad or dad's mate is an executive of a Corporation gets a fast track to management by association with no skills or experience gets paid twice what I was and blocks my rightful career progression through to the management positions is totally normal. I'm sure 60-70% of skilled professionals in the UK are manager by a muppet or lead (loosest possible sense of the word) by donkeys.

It's the same with football players, the best can go anywhere in the world. We know the best in the world is Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City - the Cartel. The cartel as they can afford.

So, to the point. If the players salaries are capped. Who makes the money instead? The club owners. The Glazers, Kroenkes, FSG, Daniel Levy and all the other Jerk-off corrupt owners. The players are the talent and they make the sport. The owners do not. I believe that the players should earn the majority of the revenue from the sport. Why not? Joel Glazer isn't tearing his hamstrings or giving himself arthritic knees.

The disparity between real life and the salaries generated by professional football player is the one thing that is truly gut wrenching for most. The Football haters, the ****s in government, the nonces, kids who were losers at school how have made their way into positions of authority all want to manipulate and control the sport. I was in favour of the regulator but seeing how governments for the last 30 yrs have abused their positions of power and destroyed the nation I really have u-turned on that as well.

Also, should you cap salaries & the MLS, Saudi or China decided to just throw open the cheque books the top top talent will leave and go to play for clubs that value them. Maybe not immediately, as we saw China's football takeover fail, it wouldn't be over night but should salaries across Europe be capped at 150,000 USD other leagues, esp the MLS would start to smell blood in the water.

The fact is clubs like the filth still have vast revenue advantages. That will change when they keep failing.

We just have to keep plugging away at the players who in that 'almost super star' bracket. Bruno, Tonali, Isak.

All these signings came out of nowhere. When players are linked forever like Bummo, it seldom transpires to happen.

Well summed up Zip, but the answer and control is within the hands and scope of the officials of the game. And they have total and ultimate control if they want to take it.

As Raga pointed out about the likes of the owners such as the Levey's and the Manure mobs milking their clubs, and we have suffered under Fatty Cashley, this could be all brought under control by the F.A. putting a cap on what could be taken out so that the majority of club income would go on improving facilities and building up the club structure to the benefit of both the supporters and the club..

If the owners/directors didn't like it they could get out of it and leave the clubs in the hands of those who cared.
