Why we're so crap theory
My theory for the massive drop in morale and effort has been that a slew of players have been told by the DOF to find new clubs. I think Murphy is definetly one of them because his old hyper self is completely gone. I think Tino has already decided to move on. I would guess that Gordon and Tonali are also ready to move on.

Something i saw on FB - apologies if someone here wrote it and im not crediting but i didnt recognise names.
Thoughts? Its a bit out there but could make a weird sense?
I also think that Tino has decided he's off and isn't pushing as much as he has in the past, I also suspect Gordon is playing carefully because of the world cup.
I also wonder if this has upset Eddie if Wilson has told players particularly who Eddie wanted to keep - instead we'll be getting younger, contiental players in who we can sell for profit sooner, also playing in with the learning to trade better.

There could be something in that, Jammy. Eddie is all about the character of the dressing room and, whilst it's served him well, it's led to certain players playing when better options are available with other players being left out. I don't think it's a particularly happy dressing room and if some of those mainstays of the leadership group are leaving (whether they've been told or have decided themselves) then that's only going to make things worse.
Eddie, imo, has too much say in who comes in. There was a player we bought whose data was awful and definitwely didn't suit us but who Eddie really liked becasue of his nature/attitude. I don't know who it was and I didn't ask but it shows how much sway Eddie has.
