Barrow lost 9 and were champions last season with 5 games to go. The same as us (and Harrogate) so actually in our case it’s the draws that cost us rather than the defeats IMO.
We beat Torquay last season with Ardley at the helm. I have stated before and for your benefit I will state it again, I am not pro or anti Ardley. He is our manager until the owners decide otherwise and it is that I support.
Your point about Torquay being 9 points ahead is ridiculous to make at this point, but you only make it to support your vendetta against Ardley. After all he is a tool right?

It's looking good. In 1930/31 we beat them twice, 6 - 1 on aggregate so we must be nailed on for a win by 2 or 3 goals.

I take back my previous comment about not turning up for those games.

Can't wait till we play Chesterfield again because on 17th March 1870 we beat them 3 - 1

Not ridiculous at all, it could be any club, not specifiaclly Torquay, but we must stay within striking distance of the top position, or be in the top position, whether its after 5 , 10 or 30 games

I have said before, the owners sticking with Ardley is no big surprise due to the following

- They never saw how bad Ardley was in the relegation season, and how after 2 years he has not sorted out many of those problems that relegated us

- The fact we was relegated , helped the new owners, as the club propbably cost them a few million pounds less

- Looking at last season alone, which is all the new owners have seen, given the large resources at Ardley,s disposal, Ardley did fair getting to the play off final , it was close .

- They know his contract expires at the end of the season, so why pay him off , for them it will be his second chance

Exactly Davy you've nailed it so no need to bang the drum every single day. Anybody who reads NCM knows you don't want him as manager , you wanted him sacked when we were still in L2. We get it but as you said the owners are sticking with him.

They are the important ones in all this after all.

Well thanks Laddo, but at least you do not get any Bull from me, you know the score. I wanted him gone after his first 12 games, no evidence to the contary makes me believe we would be any worse of today if we had, we might have been better off. The only reason he was not is because Hardy ran out of cash

Yes the owners are the important ones, yet all owners even Trew and Hardy were popular to start with at Notts. And as much as people say they screwed it up, if they had not come in when they did the club would probably not have existed

I do feel Hardy was desperately unlucky, i do wonder how things might have been different, if we had gone up to league 1. So many of them teams around us at that time , have gone on to do better, eg Luton, Coventry, wycombe, and Lincoln. Even Exeter still in league 2

Still we are where we are, barring a relegation battle ( with the resources we have un thinkable ) , Ardley will remain to the end of the season, I say he will fail to get automatic, and we will be left to the lottery of the play offs, but we will all see , one way or the other

How much compensation did we pay Crawley for Harry Kewell? £200,000-£400,000 I've heard. Only to sack him just 10 weeks later and pay him compensation for ending his contract early.

That Davy is a very expensive appointment.

Hardy wasn't unlucky at all let along desperately unlucky. He was the main problem, the main reason for the downfall and relegation. He brought a lot of it on himself. Delighted he's no longer making any decisions at Meadow Lane

Thats my whole point you were happy with Alan Hardy for the first 18 months, and he did save the club. He only went of the rails, after the us being swindled in the play offs, by the officilas.
I think he was very unlucky, first of all not getting promotion to league 1, and the game changes completely if we had gone up .
Also unlucky in yates being recalled in January, and the player bennet being injured, otherwise we would got automatic promotion

He only started going wrong AFTER all this

Yes i agree he should have never sacked Nolan, made expensive mistakes especially with Kewell, and then his biggest mistake of all appointing Ardley

And i think otherwise, the main reason for relegation is Ardley, had nearly 30 games to keep us up, was heavily backed by Hardy in the January transfer window. It was Ardley,s crap management skills that relegated us

Alan Hardy's tenure will always be remembered for being "unlucky" lol.

Classic Davy. I know you really blame Hardy for relegation , you've said it many times before that Nolan shouldn't have been sacked (by Hardy), Kewell shouldn't have been hired (Hardy again) or fired (Big Al). Andddd best of all Ardley shouldn't have been appointed by Chairman Hardy.
