Just got in from the nightmare detour on the A52… still can’t believe how good we were tonight. Malachie has now overtaken Tommy Lawton’s record and is on course to beat Tom Keetleys 1930 record of 39 league goals.
What a player.

All the hype on the score prediction thread, on how we're going to struggle against sarfend, with posters actually predicting an away win. It was the easiest win of the last 3 games.
Got to be honest, after that, I think Bridge's value just dropped. Hope Jodi Jones remembers to let him out his pocket! A number 10 kept him at bay, a player who has barely played football in several years
Fair play to your fans, your support was excellent both vocally and in numbers for a long midweek trip. What struck me was that when the fourth goal went in we would usually see a stampede for the exits, but nearly all of you stayed until the end, proper fans. Your players gave their all, but you caught us on a really good day. At least you tried to play football instead of resorting to cynical fouls and play acting, and that's been a rarity this season. I really hope your situation is sorted in a positive way, we more than most know how awful it is.
What a performance that was tonight. Superb finishes by Langstaff. Possibly our most underrated player Sam Austin got his reward too. Bostock now he's fully match fit and with more freedom to go forward looks like the player we hoped we had signed. Jodi Jones was a constant threat and looked genuinely capable defensively as well. And Matt Palmer was imperious. That's not to ignore the performance of any of the other players, all of whom were at 7/8 out of 10 level, but the ones I've named were particularly noticeable.
Southend actually aren't a bad side, but we were at them from all angles. They were 2-0 down before they really got a foot on the ball.
