"THE EXCLUSION of the Catholic Church and other religious institutions from the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry has prompted heavy crticism from survivors' groups."
What were the other religious institutions that were excluded from the inquiry?
My take on this whole hundred post thread, it was started by a Hun, and the Huns have been nothing but ecstatic over any child abuse that is linked to Celtic or the catholic church, ( Torbett towers anyone )of course they'll pretend that they are only posting because of the children but that's a loads of *******s, they love it, they use it as a stick to try and beat Celtic fans with, even though they might not even be Catholics or have any links to Celtic boys club, the Protestant church along with the Jewish church is rife with child abuse apparently, but I have never heard one of them lay the same blame as they do at the door of the rotten catholic church. 😐
The usual response from a yahoo, "but what about the other *** offenders".
The thread was started to highlight the Scottish governments failure to include the Catholic Church and sporting institutions in this inquiry despite the request from victims to do so, these victims have since set up petitions to force the issue and it would be obvious to any rational individual why they are asking for these inclusions, in denying the victims their requests they are seen to be complicit in covering up these crimes and the victims torment goes on.
It is no wonder the Catholic Church has the horrendous record it has when anyone who may raise a concern about them is immediately shouted down and branded a bigot, even the Catholic child victims have received the same treatment, and by doing so those doing the shouting have aided and abetted the widespread criminal actions of these supposed holy men, had this church dealt with these crimes appropriately they could then point the finger, however as has been proved they simply cover it up and as such deserve no preferential treatment in inquires such as this.
The Scottish government's relationship with this church is suspect at best, it should investigate it fully and remove all doubts from anyone and allow the victims their dignity at least.
Yeah, that was the reason, geeza feckin break!you're as bad as the rest of them, you did see the bit where I asked who were the other religious establishments excluded?but you only focused on one, wonder why that was, or do you find one lot of child abuse worse than others, why don't you dump your hatred of one particular group and report and condemn all of them, then mibbes you'll be taken seriously.
Sporting institutions??? Indeed...
Having read extensively on this I can safely say that this post is the only time "sporting institutions" have been mentioned. No victims have even hinted at any "sporting institution"...
It would seem that this particular thread is no more than an agenda-driven attack on Celtic FC using the plight of these unfortunates as some stick to beat the club with.
As for "The Catholic Church" - again, not quite representative of the facts. Any faith-based residential institution such as a care home or similar falls under the remit of the investigation. The scope of the inquiry fails to include, however, those occasions where attendees to a youth organisation such as the scouts or military cadets were abused, or where attendees to a Church have been abused. To most right-thinking people, this would seem like a mistake as has been pointed out by a spokesman for survivors, Father Gerry Magee...
Having read the inquiry's remit, and subsequent complaints from survivors groups such as those whose concerns are voiced by Father Magee, it would seem that no favouritism is being shown to the Catholic Church - it is simply a case that certain categories and instances have been omitted from the scope of the investigation.
This would seem regrettable.
Anyone else think the bigot rolf has his pants round his ankles when he's posting his anti-kafflick sentiments, jerking away :s
Father Gerry McGee you say? Nah, not having that, he sounds like Wan a they bead rattling beasts that we hate so much.
I omitted the word "its" from my post and should have written "Catholic church and its sporting institutions", the church has many connections to youth organisations in Scotland and one of the victim groups mentioned the abuse carried out in them in one of the reports I read, I'll find it and post it up.
The child abuse at Celtic has been dealt with by the police and courts, there may be some scope in having them punished by the footballing authorities who done nothing, however I am not one of the people who look for this and don't enjoy hearing the BJK chants or insults.
You say that most "right thinking people", would see this as a simple mistake, omitting an organisation and all its connected organisations in no mistake, but just as the victims say, being complicit in covering up the crimes.
The victim groups want the scope changed, the first minster has the power to do this but refuses, this is more than regrettable and a as I said, complicit in a cover up.
Father MaGhee is one of the loudest voices in the Catholic church in regards to the widespread child abuse carried out by the priests, he should be applauded for his work in trying to rid the church of these monsters, unfortunately he receives no help or support from the hierarchy in the church, but his work with the victims should be commended.
Father Magee brought this to the attention of the authorities a couple of years ago, but the remit of the inquiry will see this type of institution free from investigation.

Can I also point out that all organisations should be included in this inquiry regardless of the religious persuasion or affiliation to any church or organisation, however it is the victim groups who are calling for the change to the scope because of abuse by the Catholic church, if they include the Catholic church they will have to include all churches and organisations.
To little too late RMDU,you will never convince me that this is anything less than having a go at Celtic, shame on you. >:(
