Typical negative Ardley performance. No pace, no urgency, too slow to create anything.
From a player perspective, everyone was poor today. Horrendous first touches, dreadful passing. Couldn't even manage the basics.
We had one shot after they scored... in 25 minutes. Pathetic. Against a team that hadn't won at home and sat in 21st position. We should be going to destroy teams like that.
Credit to them though, they deserved it.
Mansfield will be buzzing today.
A new, competent manager and an impressive away win.
Notts...take note.
I don't go in for categorising posters as 'Pro-Ardley' or 'Anti-Ardley' but if people want to wear either cap, fair enough.
I stand by what I've said before: I'll back the owners whatever decisions they wish to make regarding the manager. I think the Reedtz brothers have earned the right to be left to make such calls and be respected for it either way.
Clearly they believe in trying to build stability and giving a manager (whoever it is) every chance, which is an understandable response to the previous revolving door approach that brought us here in the first place.
However, Neal Ardley has got to show some returns for the faith they've shown in him, and defeats to teams like Dover, Maidenhead and Aldershot obviously don't help.
Ardley post match: "Can't use (3 weeks) as an excuse, everything they did is what we worked on all week, really focussed on what they were going to do, in football you've got to win battles, attacks constantly broke down, nothing tactcial about it, they won the battles, AS DISAAPOINTED AS I'VE EVER BEEN AS NOTTS COUNTY MANAGER. I take full responsibility, on the flip side I can't win a header for my centre-half, not a lot I can say or do about that performance.
Evening KC.
Awful wasn't it. Two poor teams. I am not going to turn on NA and call for his head, nor defend him as something needs to change for Wednesday. Playing it out from the back is so risky if it goes wrong. I am not totally against it but it needs someone creative in the centre to do something positive with it, then some strikers who look hungry to score.
Hope that Roberts is available, I would also play DKE, and Turner if Rawlinson isn't fit. I would also give Sam a start instead of Thomas. Controversial maybe.
