He's right, it's true.
Work in progress. When it works it is a thing of beauty just need it to happen more often.

That's what those figures are, Notts home attendances only.
And does anybody seriously believe L2 clubs were bringing an average of 2,000 extra fans to ML than NL clubs??????
If L2 away support made any significant difference, how would it have been possible for Trew to average less than we are now after we got relegated from L1? Were away supporters boycotting us because they were peed off that Notts had gone down?
Well I'm shocked our home attendances dropped by 2347 from our last season in L2 and NL.
We know from 2017/18 season in particular that the number of home supporters in games against FGR and Crewe were swelled massively due to cheap tickets.
And naturally playing the likes of Stags, Lincoln, Coventry even when excluding away fans definitely adds plenty on the home gate. So the opposition has a significant impact in certain games against local or big opposition.
Not sure how many cheap ticket game we did the following year.
You looked at the number of games where Meadow Lane had over 6000 in attendance (I assume that includes away fans?) What about the number over 7000?
Regardless of all this the home attendances since dropping to the NL have been superb and very impressive to date.
Another thing that needs acknowledging. Rolf Harris charged us among the very highest prices in the division (both 3rd and 4th tier), Hardy's prices overall likely brought us more in line with the average. A graphic posted earlier this season by Ollie Bayliss suggests we are paying among the top ticket prices in the NL, though - shockingly - we're closely followed by Kings Lynn!!! As far as I can recall the Reedtz bros have done only one match day offer so far which was the one gate they got over 7k (v Fylde).
That graphic shared by Ollie Bayliss was somewhat misleading, as was pointed out by fans of many clubs at the time. IIRC it used the most expensive season ticket on sale at each club and didn't take into account things like early bird discounts etc.
Presumably most or even all clubs do offers. All things weighed up, that graphic probably did provide a general idea of who's charging the most and who's charging the least. It's to be expected that Notts would be charging among the highest prices having dropped from tier 3 to tier 5 in four years, but also - seeing we've had the highest average gate in the league (2019/20) paying among the highest prices - I'd have also expected Notts to be properly challenging for top spot. Doesn't always work out that way due to mismanagement. The chief crime of the Reedtz bros obviously sticking with a dud manager. Remains to be seen if they've replaced him with somebody significantly better enough to make a difference.
