I'm pretty much comfortable with anything that goes on between consenting adults, in terms of stroop-age or anything else.

If an individual feels that they are the wrong gender and wants to transition to a different gender, and they've undergone their requisite psychological evaluation, counselling, whatever, knock yourself out.

In the fu cked up world in which we are all currently residing, it strikes me there's so much more worthy of our collective ire than these relatively minor things.

Or a meringue?

I think it relates to a number of politicians being asked “can you define what a women is” and them being unable.

Saying a man can’t be a women isn’t denying them their rights it’s simply pointing out a fact.

I think that Mr and Mrs, or Ms and Ms, or Mr and Mr (other combinations will be available, but I’m not motivated enough to find out) Jock Tamson and their progeny probably don’t give a ****. I’ve never really understood why people seem to get het up by the bodily combinations whereby adults make their bi-weekly squelching noises. Likewise, I don’t understand why the whole trans issue is an issue. Keyboard warriors with little else in their lives but entitlement and a semi-competence with a keyboard, I suppose. I blame the parents, especially everyone born between 1947 and 1964, the ****s.

I mean, if somebody says, by law, a person can transition to another gender?

Speaking personally, I dinna have the scientific or psychological knowledge to comment with any authority.

But if somebody wants to be a different gender and the medical professionals and legislators say they can, I really donna see who's being harmed.

I’m hoping for a series of typos in sub-editorless journals, and seeing the frothing, fulminating outrage from guitar players about others clamouring to change their Fender, goose fairmers’ shock at gander identity, and weedgies up in arms, triggered by the threat to the recipe-tampering of their caries-causing soft drink suggested by The Ginger Recognition Bill.

It’s a distraction that a cynic (not me, like) might suggest is calculated and deliberate to draw attention away from the big issues that are taxing even the superbrains of awe-inspiring intellectual nationalist behemoths like John Mason, Fiona Hyslop and Kevin Stewart.

Of course it bothers me.
Making a law which is clearly a heap of s'hite, about something that is clearly untrue is not a good way forward.

Useful of course in certain situations when a quick "I identify as a woman" gets you into something free or stops you having to fight the Russians or something.
