The “chipper” establishment that was shown on a previous picture…2 floors? Explain to those of us on here who haven’t set foot in the place? (Open to anyone who has knowledge of this building)

I appreciate your honesty in such a delicate matter. It’s also important that you don’t 100% know that it isn’t a chippy in the city itself. When I myself went into Mike’s chippy years ago I definitely heard people say “chippy” but not once ever did I hear anyone mutter “chipper”. I am positive the guy making the suppers called it a chippy himself in a conversation. Surely these people are the experts. Case closed.
Anyone got any info on the 2 floor chipper? It’s not really helping the “chipper” boys case that such a small building has 2 floors. Is it for teuchter midgets only?
Definitely english.
Perhaps those weirdos in the west are just too near the border.
The thought of anyone in Torry not saying chipper is absurd.
Anyway, if in Torry, just stick to Mr Mo and his chinky chipper on Vicky Road.
The Bervie Chipper was a classic case of advertising above quality.
It may well have been good once upon a time but when I went to it, it was bowfin.
F*ck me, I really want a fish supper for lunch. Our local chipper's ace - but closed of a Thursday lunch time. F***n Somerset teuchters.
Tried a few haddock suppers in Aberdeen lately - the one recently mentioned on Rosemount Place was decent - I’m sorry, but none of them get close to the Fort Chip?? in Lerwick. Haddock quality just now is poor as they are spawning.
The first time I saw that particular phonetic was decades ago when Malky the cartoonist had a Big Yin strip in the Hunday Liam.
The only time I’ve particularly heard it was when an FE colleague from Paisley (and a Saints’ fan rather than a gloryhunting twát) travelled to Helsinki on a “project evaluation” XD and one of the Finns asked me why he said ‘ra’ rather than use the traditional pronunciation of the definite article. “He’s a near-weedgie cûnt” was tempting as a response, but I desisted.
