Last season Notts had the 2nd best away record in the division but struggled at home

If I remember correctly, Curle presided over a great away record going 22 (?) games unbeaten. Unfortunately , the system didn't work so well at home with opposition teams employing a low press and happy for Notts to play possession football. Boucard being the key CM operative.
Notts missed out on the play offs after a final day 2-4 defeat v Bury at ML.
Ironically, a draw would have seen Notts qualify and trying to win the game after drawing level at 2-2 saw them beaten.
I ,personally, didn't want KC after Mad Dog was sacked but he won the fans over and did a great job !
We were talking to Graham Alexander , at Wimbledon , before the PO 2nd leg.
He praised Notts ' away record and said a one goal defecit was not a problem.
Conceding after just 8 minutes though was a major blow.
We won our last two games that season we beat Wycombe in injury time away and won easily last game too.
Still a record of 45% win ratio is very good if the results were flipped around he'd have stayed im certain of that.
Alexander is correct one goal you can comeback from & history of play off games shows this.
I have no gripes though as I didnt think we were good enough for promotion.

From memory, I plucked out the Bury game as being decisive, recalling the equaliser at 2-2 and then losing 2-4. The game was an early kick off at 12.30.
I do recall shaking Curle's hand in the Pavis Stand and offering sympathy on just missing out on the Play Offs.
That would have been at the final home game which was against Colchester United.
The Bury defeat , proving crucial.
