What kind of team would that be?
You say a team worthy of the club but where does the worthy come in terms of league status and how much is needed to do this?
We generally don't buy low to sell high. It's worked like that with a few players but many have been bought and sold for less than the buy and also the players we sold for big profit were generally players that forced their own exit.
And this is generally where the problem lies.
You can stand still, gain or literally drop like a stone. It's all a gamble.
I agree it could take off but where to?
Which clubs does this club take over the mantle from?
Man Utd?
Man City?
@rsenal?
Tottenham?
Chelsea?
Liverpool?
Everton?
You see, the money bags clubs seem to be growing, so where do we fit in to actually even that out?
We could literally end up with egg on our faces and be in serious trouble, forcing Ashley to loan high into the club again, in which case the returns would have to be instant for him, including interest most likely...especially at this stage.
It's not as easy as 123 with Newcastle United based in the north east of England and classed as second class to the South...or shall I say the powers that be further south.
To lose high on a football club such as ours would have dire consequences if you consider what we are up against.
It possibly could but everything would literally have to click into place for it to happen.
Generally speaking we could end up with a squad of hard to shift quality mercenaries on big contracts that other clubs will not match unless we give them away.
It's extremely possible and that's what we're up against, no matter who the owner is.
