We could generate money through other streams.
Bin trident, sort out mental justice system, mp expenses, small tax rise etc etc.
Trade wud sort itself out, always does.
To my knowledge England does not subsidise Scotland, you may know better tho?

Scotland doesn’t pay for trident, Westminster does, it helps create hundreds of not thousands of jobs in Scotland,
MP’s expenses, the boy Blackford is one of, if not the highest expense’s claimer
Mental health, we can do that now
Raise taxes, we already pay more as we have the right now to raise them

I think the comparisons with other countries of a similar size are very interesting. The Scandinavians have a socialist ethos that believes in the virtue of their political system. That's quite different from our class based history, bosses exploiting workers, workers being organised to protect their jobs. It always seems to come down to a them and us grievance culture. I would love to be confident that Scotland will work in harmony. I don't think it will because it feels that we just love fighting with each other.

I am not sure that putting up taxes will be a straightforward exercise. My understanding is that the taxes raised in Scotland are less than the amount of the block grant that is used just now. I don't want to disappear down the Barnett Formula rabbit hole but I have not found a credible explanation as to why this is not a problem for an independent Scotland.

Scotland contributes a % of the cost of trident.
You can't just "return" into the EU?
I didn't mention mental health but the incredible waste of cash on our horrific justice system.
Benefits to me would be our people govern our country, good and bad. Not to be governed by London who have no interest in any other region than their own. To elect a government the people can relate to and not public schoolboys who as we have saw during the pandemic look after their own in breaking of the rules and awarding their pals big ppe contracts.
It's not all about cash imo. Create a safe country with no delusions of wars and following the most corrupt country in history, the yanks into battle.

When Tony Blair was prime minister, he was aware of the surge to the SNP, as a precaution he changed some of the offshore boundaries, now there are oil rigs which were deemed to be in Scottish waters, are now in English waters.

We’re not governed by London, MP’s are elected from all over the country, we have an SNP government that has failed us, you talk about mental health, what have they done for that, look at the “junkie” problem in this country / city, again what have they done about that,
It is all about cash, that’s what makes a country successful, if we don’t have cash we can’t pay for things like the NHS, if people don’t have disposable income businesses would close, as things like clothes shops, pubs, restaurant’s, picture houses, ice rinks, football teams, garages, etc all rely on folk spending money to survive, raise taxes and folk have less to spend

Of course cash matters, my meaning was its not the be all and end all when voting!I would happily pay more in tax to govern ourselves 100%.
If the snp have failed us we vote another party in.

Surely SNP are responsible for this
