Ouch. That'd be a new angle on shooting practice

Burch: First 45 we were good, Their keeper only made 1 save. Early 2nd half more likely we were going to get the 2nd. Knew they were going to be good at set pieces. Can't give teams like this goals from set pieces. I have to look at the balance of play, we've had 78 minutes they've had 8. It's so disappointing. Didn't suit us when the game got stretched, we got tired. A lot we can take from our attacking play but not counting for anything if we don't defend key moments. Need to find it in ourselves to be more physical.

Charlie has asked him a few times about getting new players in. Burch said loans are an option but doesn't seem overly keen and more inclined to sort things out with what they've got. That was my impression anyway.
One point, IB's pre-match presser.... These things are watched by all on Youtube and this one would've been essential viewing for the Woking squad, because he made them sound like bloody world-beaters.
Managing expectations is one thing but bigging up the oppo like that has to be a mistake

Up until we scored, we looked good. After our goal, we decided to faff about for 40 mins rather than get a second and in the last 25 mins The Woke Folk showed gave us a lesson in tactics and how to score goals and win games at this level. We could use this particular game as a learning curve but I doubt we will, we're far more likely to continue to try and look good rather than be effective.
I worry even if we don't make the playoffs that the Reedtz will keep him on. It's really hard not to get carried away after that scoreline so trying to keep it cool but I would play any style if it got us up. This style works great with top players but we don't have top players so IB needs to sort it out as best he can and quickly.
Today was a clash between two different styles of football, and we were the more attractive team, but the style that suits the National League won in the end by a crushing margin. We do indeed know what Woking are all about, and it is self-evidently far more effective than what we're doing. Ian Burchnall needs to recognise that quickly, otherwise he risks disappearing down the same rabbit hole as Neal Ardley, and I genuinely don't want to see that.
