I don't agree. We were easily the better team in the first half despite the conditions and CU's best efforts. We did totally lose fluency second half, but we never sat back and accepted our fate. McGoldrick's argybargy at the end was probably more out of frustration than drive, but I didn't see any 'testimonial' level lethargy.

My son commented it was like a pre season friendly in the first half when we were doing ok. We tried to up the tempo second half but then we just gave the ball away.

Both teams were crap and the game deserved to be 0-0, they just had the excuse that they were defending a lead for half of it.

it's when teams just sit behind the ball and press we - and every team - struggle to find the creativity to unlock them. Can't always count on wonder goals like Didzy's on Wednesday to change the game, but if there's a missing link, it' the Crowley/Rodrigues type in midfield. imo

Ah well. Back down to earth with a big bump. Can still make the playoffs.

can't really disagree with you or Elite about the lack of killer instinct in our play today and in other games, but to me there is a qualitative difference between teams that try to play and win, and teams that sit back and hope for hoofballs

I think the point I'm defending is that we are looking like winning these games. Understand everyone's frustration, but don't agree that it's an effort thing, or even an intensity thing so much as one killer ball/ one lucky bounce / one hundred yard breakaway thing.

anyhoo, I'm going for a run. Well done to everyone who made it the game. Keep the faith, we've still got a great chance of going up this year, only our second year back in the league.
