Your point stating, its the end of AFC if they move.
The design of the stadium will never please everyone no matter how it looks, but its a damn sight better looking that Pittodrie St.

I never said that
I have no problem moving from Pittodrie, although the sensible option would be to redevelop. If they build a shoebox in the @rse end of nowhere, in a city which is already in the @rse end of nowhere, then the club might struggle in future. Add in the added expense of the training facilities then it could be the end of AFC
The ground looks sh1t. If it didn't look sh1t, I'd be 100% behind it. Every supporter would
Pretty sad how an exciting new beginning for the club has turned into a bun fight.
Seriously this should be uniting the fans and the city.
I personally dont have an issue with the location but i do find the stadium itself a bit sh@te. There are new grounds that are fantastic looking for the same price give or take but the new Pittodrie looks poor. St Mirreny with corners. Folk have mentioned Ghent, Ferencvaros etc which are fair suggestions. I still say Luzerns Swissporarena (60m Euros) is cool as f@ck,why couldnt that idea have been looked at. Im nae saying identical but the bowl effect. The atmosphere was trapped too. I was opposite ends of the Luzern ultras and it was loud as f@ck. Safe standing too. Great set up.

To be noted, out of town but free transport to and from
If you look through this thread & the whole process, the common themes seem to be corners, safe standing, steep stands & pre match boozing. I may have missed it but is there anything in the design that suggests any of that happening? If it's not there, then what you're looking at is a bigger St.Mirren park. Although to be fair to the buddies, at least they made their training facilities inflatable instead of pissing a fortune down a drain
I think you are being a little unfair. I really dont think it looks anything like StMirren or St Johnstones ground. Also not so sure the stands are that shallow. lets be honest, it will never be as steep as Tynecastle, which would never get passed in Aberdeen in a million years anyway.
Seems to me the corners will look fine, there will be a safe standing area and a possible a boozers area outside.
Will it really be as bad as people make out, before its even built? I dont thinks so.
As for one of the NIMBY's stating it will be soulless, he must have crystal balls.
Like fit Mason jist said :) ... particularly re trainin facilities. In trainin, thee days, it would be wise tae adapt to a wide variety o' conditions. In the SPL .. there's two plastic pitches, at least one on a slope, at least one prone tae bein slippery/waterlogged, and at least one wi a loose topsoil/undersoil... It's as geographical as it is tae dae wi maintainence .... so, a variety o trainin surfaces ...which will cost **** all might be a good way to go.
Ah'm nae a young loon, so Ah remember the pleasure o kickin a plastic ba' wi chums alongside the Dons at Linksfield but remember they would dae some rinnin and kickaroon on the beach, good for stamina and balance! ... also in the Pittodrie car park ... nae good for knees, but good for gettin the hang o a bouncy ba' ...
Tae restrain masel fae borin ye wi examples o' train environments available for free, I will ask ... fit's the point in recreatin the conditions o the Hampden pitch if we are gonna struggle tae get tae Hampden due tae a bad day at some neepfield o' a ****ey away grun .... when we hae plenty o' neepfields, borderline bogs (Calder Park as is ) and some nae bad public parks.
Aye, Ah'm accountin for risk o' injury, but ken? Mitigate! .... Trainin is nae aa aboot 11 vs 11 .... For example ... Ah'm nae an athlete, as Ah said earlier - borderline auld bugger - but I like tae hae a trek ower the untrodden parts o' Kincorth Hill, Tullos Hill and Calder Park etc cos the variety and ...err .. unpredictability o terrain ... cos it helps ma wi ma core muscle fitness/strength.
Ah jist think ... trainin ... is nae supposed tae be .... easy! It should be challengin!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It's an asthetics perception issue.
Certainly nothing worth getting your knickers in a twist over.
Not every supporter would be behind it, Stansmith clearly does not want it to be at Kingsford, as I said earlier, nothing will please him.
NIMBYism at its finest
Perception issue? :)
If you're going to build a ground there, it has to be pretty special. You can't get Aberdeen fans along just now to a stadium within the city, why would they put in the extra effort for something that's sh1t? Everyone on here seems to be in agreement as to what a good stadium looks like and what features it should have. The Wiggydome seems to fall short on all of them. It looks sh1t
