Yes I think we should have walked away as soon as the player in question hesitated and I did say that at the time.
Also I find it hard to understand why we were prepared to pay such a high wage to a loanee. Personally I'd rather we signed someone permanently and used the money to fund that.
I don't buy this statement made on here that the parent club forces a player to go to a certain club, are players so removed from the real world that enjoying what they do and working with people they get on with, mean nothing now? The player will have a huge say in the final place he goes. I do agree that the parent club will have made their decision on money and put pressure on the player, but if he wanted to play for Rotherham he would be here.
If we only have this one and another one that isn't going to happen until another player is signed, then we are not doing the recruitment right in my view, we should have 6 or even 10 irons in the fire and depending on the player, the position the reason for wanting him the type of deal will vary. We are down to one striker (if washington is out) and that is kelly a lad that hasn't played a full league game for any English club in any league. Yes we can put Ogbene in the middle, but we play the ball out fast and need our strikers to work hard, win 50/50s and hold teh ball up, that is not Ogbene. We have a few games coming against teams that are likely to be bottom 8 so our rivals to stay up, these games are crucial for that reason To be in this situation if it is down purely to money, knowing what we know about the Championship then you have to question whether there really is any desire in TS to try and stay up. If the feeling in the club is that we are penny pinching, that will drop the morale across the board including the manager, that will be very difficult to get back up. I think with the depleated front-line we should take more of a gamble even if it is ony until January 1st, putting all our eggs in one basket is not very good or sensible. if a blame has to be laid it has to lay within the club, can't use external factors as an excuse, those are limitations that you know about and have known about them for some time.
Don't waste so much energy Derby. You know as little as any of us.
So was this player Warney’s dream player or is he still dreaming?
Hopefully he’s still dreaming XD
Maybe this heat is getting to some XD
