Sometime that I don’t understand though,whilst looking through various interesting facts for this fun packed thread I read that the sun is 400 times the size of the moon yet when we get a total eclipse the moon fits over the sun exactly,I mean it’s a perfect fit covering it,now I know thst the moon is nearer than the sun so looks bigger but to be perfect in covering the sun needs further explanation

Now I could understand the moon looking smaller as it crosses the path of the sun or even bigger if the moon was nearer to Earth but to fit exactly over the sun is a fascinating scenario that can’t be explained by some cows being nearer than the ones farther away by Father Ted
