That was awful. We improved a bit after the break in the sense that we had more possession and spent more time in their half, but I don't think their keeper had a save to make. The best chances all fell to them, and we are lucky it didn't finish 0-3.
How that was not 2-0 with that one on one at the end I'll never know.
Probably the most disappointing performance of the season for me and we deserved nothing from that game at all. We did not test the keeper once in the entire game. To be fair to Cheaterfield they did a job on us by pressing, working hard, giving us no time on the ball and nullified any threat because we did not have the dominance of play or possession. We did not have anywhere near the quality, energy, creativity or spark to overcome that in the final third as has been the case many times this season.
It's games like today where our lack of creativity and ability to score more goals is going to cost us points. It puts more pressure on us getting a result against Stockport next.
There is no doubt about it we are far weaker up top this season having lost Thomas and Dennis. If we fail to get promoted this will be one of the key reasons.
Sutton are showing us how to do it,smashing 4 goals in, we never ever roll teams over, it's always slender wins. We need a quality striker very very quickly .
Still the best defence in the league (0.75 conceded per game) but way down in 14th for goals scored per game (1.30). 1st to 14th from one end of the pitch to the other is quite a big difference.
Still 3rd in the PPG but Sutton now level with Torquay on 2.00 pts per game. Eastleigh looking good now too, moving above us in the regular table.
Ardley post match: 'I'm so angry I could crush a grape'.
Anymore?
