Nobody is forced to buy products who advertise on ITV, that is a choice, you could boycott a product and not face any consequences.

So you are saying that there should be a salary threshold for when your private life, if paid in the public-sector, should be available for pubic scrutiny? What is it £35k or £400k?

That's true, but you would have to watch all the ads and your choice would be very limited!

Similarly, nobody is forced to buy a TV licence.

I'm saying it should be a choice whether or not you want to pay for an entertainment service when alternatives are available and I don't have any sympathy for a millionaire who's funding his kinks through public money, with vulnerable people (elderly, single parents) being fined or put in prison because they can't afford to pay the licence fee. It's disgusting.

The current TV Licence fee is £159. You cannot go to prison for simply not having a TV licence. The court can only give you a fine. The average fine for watching live TV (or BBC iplayer) without a licence is £160.

You may not like what he has done, you may not like the BBC. However, if at the end of the day it appears he has done nothing illegal then the way this has been sensationalised for the sake of selling a few papers and attacking a rival news provider is wrong.
