Only have to think back as far as the guy before Maynard, to be fair.

None that didn't hit the ground running, no. Warnock's appointment was a bit of a surprise, given that Pavis had previously gone for the top flight experienced and successful John Barnwell, but people to this day still believe Warnock was managing in non-league at the time he joined us when in fact he'd won the 5th tier championship, consolidated in tier 4 and then had Scarboro battling for promotion to tier 3, so he wasn't that much of a gamble.
Allardyce and Dearden both recovered from terrible starts with us, but both of them arrived with a decent reputation having walked into the most toxic environments ever seen at Notts up to that point.
I don?t think SM should, or will be, sacked any time soon. I think he?s done enough with an almighty injury crisis affecting all of his best players whilst losing massive players like Macca and Crowley, and also losing his closest allies in his coaching staff.
Who on earth, barring one or two exceptions, could come in now with this bunch of players and turn it around quicker than SM may be able to. The owners will know how unlucky he has been with the injuries and will surely take that into account and grant him until the end of the season to see what SM can produce if we get some players back for the big push.
If we do fall out of the playoffs then I imagine his time will be up at the end of the season, but if the big players return along with some good form and performances but we lose int he playoffs then it may not be so cut and dry.
I?m desperate for SM to be successful, but I also don?t think I could take much more of the rubbish we?ve been served up over the last two months.
That?s right. Oh how I miss the days of crumbling concrete, wooden seats and stanchions.
So jealous of clubs who decided against investment in the stadium, you know the ones with their old characterful grounds with obstructed views, peeling paintwork, worn carpets in the club bar, corrugated iron external decor, shrinking capacities and attendances.
That?s sure to attract families and youngsters to matches
I'll be going to one of them crappy sht holes tomorrow night, win and it's 'all quite on the Maynard front '
At least until 5pm Saturday 😃
From Magpie Circle ahead of tonight's show.....
Something tells us its going to be a lively one tonight .....
The utter futility of manufactured football stats ! Notts are top of the League 2 possesion charts, MK Dons are 2nd and Carlisle (bottom) are 3rd. Btw, Walsall are 23rd ! Discuss
Magpie Circle - Stallard saying that fans aren't over-reacting after Saturday because the first half was *that* bad, fans having a go at the performance "absolutely justified". Also describing the January transfer window as "a horror show".
Mace on the coaches leaving, I think he said that we won't get any more out of the club on that issue other than "internal disciplinary investigation"
