Indeed.
All I did was listen to some of the NHS,s own employees for an hour . They don't need expensive consultants just get some free advice from their own staff.
Fix the issues and then invest and we,lll have world class health care for all.
Issues with simple solutions from people I spoke to:

Stopping the exodus of young doctors - easy to solve
Vocational training for nurses instead of the inappropriate degree based system
Stop health tourism
Understand what buildings they own, how big they are and ensure rent in collected
Manage assets and equipment

There,s a longer list than above but it isn't rocket science just good management

The thing I find quite sad and frustrating is that it feeds into the stereotype of the insular, backward looking northern cliche, scared of change and suspicious of anything that isn't from their own backyard.

The American healthcare system is the bogeyman of the left is what I meant, and always presented by them as the only possible alternative to the NHS.

Whereas most of Europe uses the public/private Bismarck model and other countries like Australia use the National Insurance model (which despite the name is not the same as the NHS which is the Beveridge model).

I wouldn't say it's just the left's bogeyman , we've never had a left wing government so clearly it's everyone's bogeyman in reality .

The left have missed a big trick in the election in my view.
Tell the public they they recognise that the NHS needs fixing and why and then tell them a top five point plan on what they are going to do to fix it.

Instead of doing some easy research their solution, which is the same as the conservatives, is just to throw more money at it.

They could have got a serious march on the opposition in a key election issue

I said right through the campaign the tories record on the NHS and affordable housing was the target to focus on , fecking shames em , an open goal all day long .

Kinnell if a layman like me can see it then what are they paying these advisors for , there lies the problem , no fecker listened .

No fecker would have it at meetings within Momentum when I was a member that to not back the leave vote robustly would see us wiped out in the heartlands , more chance of sticking a pin up a lions @rse than make these idiots see what was down the road .

The bubble these idiots live in is beyond contempt but the thing that really hurts me the most is that they claim to see what I see , I was the old lefty , the world had moved on , not fecking electorally it hadn't in their own back garden and electorally is where it's at , fecking protest movements isn't what I joined up for .

The told you so doesn't work for me after Thursday's humiliation it really doesn't .

I walked away and cancelled my membership , what more can I say .

How much of this shyte formed policy I couldn't say , influential I'll will say that but its hard to make a case for running the whole show , they had clout but others did too .

It's one thing to have a socially progressive movement but with arrogant shyte for brains hierarchy it's totally pointless .

I know what you mean my brother cancels his membership a week before the vote and I completely agree the ones running labour they are too arrogant it don’t take a ****ing genius to work out how many votes you will lose by forcing a remoaners policy. It was impossible to win with a policy like that since not only did they need labour remainers and brexit voters that voted For them last time they needed the People who voted Tory in last election too. I always understood Corbyn was in a difficult position with a party full of remainers and a historic electorate who voted leave .

You had to pick which way you sat , even Swinson picked a side , flawed but none the less stood on that platform .

I look for leaders who are prepared to make the tough decisions , that's what they are paid to do but to do nowt is the worst kind of leadership there is .

You need big boys trousers on in life , stand by what you believe and feck the rest , fall and die by it but at least stand up .

Corbyn was a leaver all day long but never had the balls to front it out .

I've more respect for Swinson than Corbyn and that's a fact , at least she stood up and backed her beliefs , paid the price but hey ho better a dead lion than a live rat for me .

I think Swinson paid the price because she changed her stance at the end, I think she would have picked up 2 more seats and kept her own if she had kept to her guns.

Oh god yeah I agree on Corbyn he was so weak in dealing with his front bench, do you remember after the referendum he kicked people out of Labour Party he had some actual leadership back then. Yeah press hounded him for it and he faced a deselection which he won but my god he had some brass on him back then, if you look at him before 2019 election he looked like a dog that had been nuted.

Now election is over some remainers in labour are now saying it was wrong of us to go against the brexit referendum, oh they went on how they didn’t agree with Brexit but admitted it was anti democratic and gave torys a free ride to no 10
