Harsh as f but I respect your right to an opinion. I would have been happy with Malky too but you could also say in his case he's not managed for 5 years and not in Scotland.
I think if you look more carefully at Mellons overall record it's good. The English leagues are not an easy gig.
Very disappointed J that we had an opportunity to appoint a manager who had worked at the highest level in the English league's and was FN desperate to rebuild his career and reputation.
It is only my opinion but i reckon Malky would have got the job if it was not for some idiot ex police officer in America killing a black criminal.Black lives matter of course but Mackay has been thrown to the wolves because of something that happened on another continent.
I can assure you of one thing though,if Mackay was the Tranmere Rovers manager last season and had accrued 32 points from the 102 available i would be on the same side as the outraged,FACT.
But that would be ignoring the previous 2 seasons which involved Mellon taking them up with 2 successive promotions. And has been pointed out by Tranmere fans Mellon wasn't given a League 1 squad to challenge in that league and was still mainly reliant on the players that he had when they were in The National League.
Why is it harsh mate?,its the truth.I 100% agree with you that England is a difficult place to manage but Mackay managed to take a small club to the Premier League and Micky who has done well at non/lower league level has never come anywhere near that.
Any United supporter tonight thinking we have appointed the best manager on Tony's list are kidding themselves on.I honestly hope if things go tits up our supporters do not direct any abuse towards Tony in the directors box because Micky was not the manager he wanted to bring in.
if you want to compare like with like in both their last seasons in club management McKay got sacked from Wigan with 5 games to go as they were 8 pints adrift not having won a home game in 7 months. They were relegated to League 1. Wigan fans were happy with decision to sack him. Tranmere fans are gutted to lose Mellon.
Yep, in this case GB, for some fans it may turn out to be a case of be careful what you wish for...................
When all is said and done though although I wanted Malky, it is what it is, Micky is the manager and as that he now gets my 100% support because at the end of the day we all now want him to do well.
