... neither do we need to be told what to do by unelected self serving socialists ...
That style works well in terms of revving up angry old men and ignorant rural ****kickers, less well in the real world (North Korea, Obamacare, trade talks with China ecc )Quote:
let's take the Trump style of negotiation "if you don't like it.....tough luck"
Despite my reluctance to bad mouth posters, Black Horse, you would try the patience of a saint. What have the Tories ever done for you and the working man - and please answer the question without going off on one about how awful Labour is?
Your post shows exactly what's wrong with the leavers' position. You don't start by slagging off the opposition - 'blood suckers' indeed. They are simply protecting their organisation. Did you not expect them to do that? If we leave on favourable terms to us that make them look silly, their union will collapse. Twas ever thus.
To approach negotiations with such a fractious political front is courting disaster.
You are betting on a losing horse, BH. This mess is wholly of the Tories making and it won't be sorted out even in the next 10 years. Do you think the right to say 'we took back control' merits economic poverty?
Far from Labour not seeing power for years to come, it's the pillocks of the modern Tory party and their supporters who will not be forgiven for years to come.
I agree that "Trump diplomacy" doesn't work well in practice BUT it would sure get their attention when we announce our intentions to start "filling in the Chunnel"....we don't even need a wall.
I'm just sick of all the bickering, the Tory Party ripping itself apart, Labour sat in the corner giggling, Barnier/Tusk etc trying to shaft us....it's been over a year now since we voted....and we are no nearer getting a result....it's pathetic
PMQs live....get a backbone TM
It would get attention, I suppose that's true.
Brexit will be a monumental **** up.
Everybody knows this, including (especially) Boris Johnson and the like who regard Mrs May as a human shield from the ****storm to come.
That is the only reason, and I mean literally the only one, that she's still in a job.
... ah, el cid ... ".
Do you think the right to say 'we took back control' merits economic poverty?
So you assume economic poverty. I would sooner we live or die because of our own actions. You assume (remember - ass-u-me - do you, el cid) that we don't have enough talent in this country to make our own way. Well we don't need your negative, we must rely on others because 'we can't' attitude. We have plenty of the right talent and motive to do well. We don't need unelected socialist hero dictators to tell us what to do. Perhaps it's because it's October and you're feeling all warm and nostalgic for your Soviet revolutionary heroes ... look what happened to them, el cid, and the multi-millions they slaughtered for the cause.
... and another thing ... this is a board allowing free speech, so don't tell me ... "You don't start by slagging off the opposition - 'blood suckers' indeed. They are simply protecting their organisation. Did you not expect them to do that? If we leave on favourable terms to us that make them look silly, their union will collapse. Twas ever thus." Do you actually think they are protecting their organisation? More like they are protecting the blood-sucking bureaucratic gravy train which keeps them in the clover to which they have become accustomed - no wonder some of the UK political Remoaners continue to play Judas, seeing their pension for life disappearing.
And another thing ... my early working like was tainted by the left wing union bullies of the '70's, where I saw honest, hard working, good people put out of work by the scum reds. You may want that again but I certainly don't.
But it's extremely, almost infinitely complicated. How do you not drag it out? You could present a list of 'take it or leave it' demands but we have kind of already tried that and they chose to leave it.
The much predicted fear of German car manufacturers (I don't want to say predicted by who exactly cause he seems to be posting a lot less on here lately, and that's a good thing ) who would dictate to Merkel that she had to keep us happy at any cost hasn't materialised. They seem to have decided that it's better to keep the single market intact without the UK than to keep the UK happy and risk the future of the single market.
It goes back to the Trump style negotiations. If you have absolute power and people need something from you, while you don't need anything from anybody, you can act like that. That's why Trump can get away with behaving like a childish god-king when running his business or speaking to people on his reality shows, but he seems to have trouble adjusting to the real world where nobody (thankfully) has absolute power and we are all interconnected.
A significant part of Brexiteers seem to have similar trouble getting their heads round this concept too.
Regarding Mrs May, she's inept. She's comically bad at her job. She reminds me of the female PM from The Thick of It - bat people and all that - only less human.
Can you think of any other reason why all those sharks who want to be PM are letting her carry on?
