Stick it in the freezer.
Ok not fitted to play hoofball tactics. Surely you have not been entertained very much this season with the tactics. The only time we played any football was at pboro then for some strange reason it was ditched in the home games that followed. If you want us to be relegated Cayton let's carry on as we are.
Maybe we don't practise heading in training.im not going to blame players for that but who do you blame then? I think out of the last 5 or 6 games we have conceded goals because we are not making defensive headers. Have a look at the goals if you don't believe me. Same up front how many headers do we win in the box? Very few or if we do they are weak or rarely on target. Tha needs to go to spec savers if tha dunt see how weak we are in the air.
Put it in the centre circle pre kick off facing a mongoose
Look. Hoofball aka percentage football which SE is famed for works... With the right players... We haven't got the right players..
Just like... Under MT... Trying to completely change our philosophy and play football... That's fine but you need the players to do so... Unfortunately those kind of players cost money.
So what does this come down to.?
I keep saying this - recruitment.
RS and PD need to be shown the door.
Its fine a manager having his own philosophy but he needs to be given the tools to do so.
Hughill should have been given an ultimatum 18 months ago. You're going out on loan and not having your contract renewed or you're training with the u23s - take your pick
Nombe, the amount of money we forked our for this guy is so ludicrous it just reeks of back handers. If we'd have got him on a free he'd still only be a bit part squad player.
Cam Humphries has not been the same player since his injury and is not a leader, Woody might have made him better than what he is.
Bramall, we've seen enough about him to know he's got frightening pace but as a footballer he's lacking, he also seems quite an unconfident kinda guy.
I don't know what you see in Tiehi he's complete dogger. Barlaser or Stewart Talbot he is not.
Just think of some of the players we've had in the past who woulld walk into this team, I bet you could all name many.
The problem at Rotherham is upstairs, it's in the the technical department. It's the scouting, the recruiting and it's the management of contracts.
SE and PR just compound the problem because they're awful coaches and managers of men they can't improve on the hands they're given.
While people say they're his signings... I don't believe for 1 second that SE has autocracy over who we bring in otherwise what is the point of a Director of Football (promoted on failure) and a Director of Operations.
The TS, PD, RS boys club needs to be broken up.
Rothehram Uniteds fortunes will not improve until it does, no matter who is manager
Nombe has been getting a fair bit of stick on here recently, but is it deserved? As a nominal target man you would expect him to be creating/finishing more chances than he is. But is it his fault?
At the end of the first half Sky showed a touches/heat map for Nombe. In the first half he had one touch in their box, right on the edge by the D.
The majority of his touches were down the left side, where you would expect to see a wing-back/winger. Is that because he prefers to play in that position?
Or he's having to do that to get some possession?
Or is he told to do that?
Squad based on ability age injuries. Phillips Dawson Macdonald Kelly Hungbo Hugill Green Osong it's a no. Raggett Jules James Holmes Mcwilliams JCH based on that question marks against. At this level, Rafferty Odoffin at centre back Humphreys McCart Bramall Teihi Powell Nombe Wilkes can do a job. Not given up on McGuckin.
I'd got the impression a few people on here seemed to be warming to Nombe recently, especially around his work rate. Personally I think there's a very solid footballer in there but he's been wrongly assigned a striker tag at some point. With his effort, good half a yard pace, and willingness to put himself in, I think he's got all the makings of a really good central midfielder - and I think we'd be better off with him sat in the middle to play through rather than having him and others chasing down these predictable long balls.
I'm guessing (like everyone else) but with how well James/Bramall have been able to link up on the left, Nombe may well have been told to pick up the gap left by Bramall being out (no idea why Bramall was left out BTW).
Both keepers, agree. Dawson looks like he has either confidence issues or is just incapable of controlling his box.
MacDonald has no reason playing football at this level.
Agree on Green, although given the situation we're in, he should be given a chance (if and) when fit, maybe this level is right for him.
Raggett has a lot to prove IMHO, agree there.
Jules looks solid, no issues there.
James also. No reason to think we could do better, and his ability to work in either a flat 4 or supporting on the wing brings something we wouldn't get from a lot of others.
Not clear why Humphreys is out of favour, maybe something to do with the SE criticisms.
McCart and Tiehi both limited. McCart just feels like a mistake in waiting, and Tiehis numbers tell the story many Millers don't want to accept. Neither should be starters ideally, but both capable to fill in when needed.
We have a squad capable of play-offs, or at least above mid-table. We're playing like we still have no clear idea on what formation suits us, who is best placed where, and essentially like it's pre-season. I said before that I'm both willing to give SE time, but that the signings seem scattergun - the way we are playing backs up the point on signings, but increasingly shows that SE isn't getting hold of the job and time may be limited because of it.
