Today I received my new VAT number. Phuck any thoughts of retirement, there are fortunes to be made. Not sure whether to use 20 or 40 foot containers, I'll probably set off again with the refrigerated 20 footers. Happy days are here again!:D

I love these stats, I'm always a bit dubious about them but they do provide some entertainment. So 35% of Labour voters voted to leave the EU, but did you notice 59, that 32% of LibDems also voted to leave the EU, one in every three, and now you're telling one third of your voters that they're morons and their votes don't count. It's an interesting strategy, insulting and pissing off one third of your voters. Best of luck with that 59, the potential for it to backfire must be obvious, but there you go.

I don't see any benefits for the British working class in being tied to the EU inspired serfdom. All Brexit has done is sow division and hatred. Let's put the Unions back in Great Britain and try and get a better deal for the many not the few.

Nice reply mon ami, but I notice that you have totally avoided answering my question.

We have all spoken to people with these views, seen them clearly on programs like Question Time, read what they say on websites etc etc.

You must be blinkered if you haven't noticed them.

My question is, why do these type of people almost universally believe in Brexit and "taking back control"?

FFS 1959_60 our very existence is now completely embedded and intrinsically interwoven in Brussels and I am extremely unhappy about that.

I was brought up in an extended family and household that had witnessed and experienced the horrors the Germans perpetrated and the French quislings turning on their own. My uncle at El Alhamein captured scores of Italian cowards and witnessed Spanish neutrals suffering under the Franco dictatorship. That my friend is less than 75 years ago and I see no signs whatsoever of these particular leopards changing their spots.

I'm not xenophobic, but I am still rather proud to be an Englishman, born in Lancashire. Phuck 'em they need us more than they need them and I will bet once we leave, the whole rotten EU edifice will start to crumble.

I think your last paragraph BT sums up the EU thinking. If the UK leaves the EU with a favourable withdrawal agreement then more states may follow. The UK having voted to leave then the government have a duty to try and make that happen on the most favourable terms possible. But it looks increasing like we will leave with no deal which appears to be what the present government is trying to achieve.

My concern with the present government is all we hear from them regarding after a no deal Brexit is we will use WTO terms, hopefully they have some plans in mind but I am sceptical.

While the EU is not the best organisation I am even more sceptical on any deal with the USA which involves Donald Trump, he certainly cannot be trusted.
