Yeah, I can't watch possession for the sake of possession. I'll just turn over or do something else.
I suppose I'm used to the watching the NBA, where the Governing body steps in and makes sure the product is entertaining - like the 24 second shot clock. If you don't have an attempt in that time, the ball goes to the opponent.

I'm not advocating that, but one day the complacency of football will catch up with it and unless it does things to make the game more entertaining it'll lose its massive fan base

Job done by the reserves (England B) expected stroll in the park against the European minnows. Personally not bothered whether it's 4-0 or 8-0. Qualification should be a given from here on in.

Plus I just knew Sterling wouldn't play in this one lol.

I'll give Ian Burchnall his due in that I think he genuinely wants purposeful, forward-looking, attacking, entertaining football rather lots of slow backwards and sideways passing, but I suspect he will have to keep on the case of certain players who (perhaps subconsciously) can all too easily fall into that low-risk, tippy-tappy style if they're allowed to do so.

Judging by his demeanor on the touchline in the first-half, I suspect there was more of a half-time b*llocking went on in the dressing room yesterday than the manager was willing to reveal publicly.

I think so. Notts fans will be entertained this season for sure. And there were about 50 goals in the NL yesterday, long may that continue...
I guess posters are only joking when they say 3-2 scorelines are 'bad for their health', far worse for my BP is the frustration of watching a 0-0 or 1-0 where hardly anything happens.

I used to watch tonnes of football as a neutral, but that's dropped off a cliff. If I watch 5 mins without a goal attempt or good play I say screw this and reach for the remote or off button

It’s worth remembering that Kelton is a big fan of our former manager whose current team let 4 in against er the might of Weymouth yesterday.

Taking a snapshot of whats happened so far this season isnt what I am doing. I am talking about our terrible play off campaign last season and we appear to still be very generous in front if our own goal. We have to start keeping clean sheets and that will give us a chance to be top. Some of the goals we are conceding are just plain daft,

This. The biggest take away so far has been IB on the touch line ‘seeing’ it like a fan. He’s throwing his arms up and down in frustration at the exact same time we are. He’s urging them forward all the time rather than happy with the 15 passes going no where.
That’s encouraging because it lets us see the passion, but also shows he reads the game like most in the stands do. He is looking to entertain and when they don’t, he stands up and changes it. How many managers in recent years would have the balls to make the subs he does? And so quickly? Not many I’d say.

Very interesting reading the comments. I have to say i think many are being extremely harsh on Aldershot. I wouldn't say they are a 'poor side' at all. Yes it's easy to see they've lost 4, and think they're bad. However when you look at who they've played, it seems they've been really hard done by. In their opening 4 games, they've played 3 of the current top 4 in Chesterfield, Boreham Wood and us. Their other game was against Yeovil who have won 2 out of their first 3. In Andrews they have a player i can see bagging 15+ goals. I honestly believe they will shock 1 of the 'title favourites' at some point this season.

So this season plus 2 games in the play offs. Still a bit of a snap shot as the play off games are irrelevant, different squad this season.

Anyway, ‘some of the goals we are conceding are plain daft’. I take this as a positive. Of the 4 goals we’ve conceded so far, we’ve more than contributed to 3 of them. So, eradicate the errors and we would have conceded one? Combined with our defensive performance against Wrexham, I believe there’s a lot to be positive about.
