Many years ago my dad RIP told me england would never beat 903-7 in my lifetime, when we declared I'm sure I heard a voice from somewhere say 'I told you so'...

Well done England…and presumably Stokes to return for the next Test too. Pakistan must be stunned, to score 550+ and lose by an innings and some with time to spare…incredible!
Stokes for Woakes I guess? Need to strengthen the lower middle order batting 😃😃 after that performance!
In reality it's harder to get wickets in Multan than runs, so unless Stokes is fit to bowl 15 overs a day I'd be tempted to give him more time to recover and keep the more specialist bowling line up. Then evaluate when see pitch for third test
Just two months ago I was at a cold, damp and windy Old Trafford watching England v Sri Lanka. Since then we’ve had the two slightly daft, imo, autumn series against Australia and now they’re in the oppressive dust bowl heat of Rawalpindi.
Got to be hard and a case of too much cricket imo - never thought I’d say that - but out of it all we’ve seen the emergence of Jamie Smith. Probably on a par with the ‘discoveries’ of Anderson and Root over the last 20 years and, injury permitting, an England fixture and wicket keeper for the next decade or so imo.
Hopefully, it's a position we've needed nailing down for some time now. I feel this England team are very much like the 90's team (though tactically very different!), there are some undoubtedly talented individuals, but not good enough as a unit to put on consistent winning runs of games, they're losing more than winning. I know not everyones a fan of bazball, but it's probably the best we'll get out of the current team, so at least there will be moments of entertainment.
Hoping the next generation can put that right, I don't see it in our current make-up.
