What you No to Kingsford (Westhill Nimby's) don't understand is: 1) the roads are busy now during rush hour and games are far less frequent than rush hours 2) games wont happen during rush hours 3) all the concerns re traffic and shuttle busses etc. were the same as the concerns re traffic for Loiriston (which got approved!) 4) the concerns re traffic are there in other stadium that have been approved elsewhere in the UK. (as was pointed out by a Councillor)

Plus the whole traffic argument was undermined by one of your own supporters who lives on one of the roads that would be affected by the traffic and was explicitly asked, by a councillor, about how the traffic would affect him... he said, (paraphrasing) "we get lots of traffic going passed our house twice a day now anyway, it wont be any worse and although traffic is an issue it's not the main issue." Oh dear...

Shame that your only "crazy" you can pick up on for the pro Loiriston camp was someone who made a reasonable point around Aberdeen University using the stadium as a way of attracting students to the University. All Universities "sell" not just their University but the wider town and its facilities. Perfectly reasonable to say having a world class facility in the town will benefit Aberdeen University.

It would help if you could write a post without going all mentally unstable you must be a westhill nimby.

What nutters like you don't understand is: 1) this is to do with sustainable travel, parking and safety of pedestrians. There are no other locations in westhill that have been approved where 20,000 people descend upon and leave at once. 2) Unless I'm mistaken, we play midweek games. 3) They demonstrated Loirston was feasible for a sold out midweek game. They can't demonstrate an average Saturday game is feasible at Kingsford, hence Milne himself saying 30% of the plans have not been done and we'll sort it oot later just give us approval please.

Couple of points on this.
1) Westhill is in the shire, Kingsford is in the City
2) There has only been 1 game (European) where the attendance was greater than 20,000 (European game against Apollon Limassol). None of the domestic games last year breached 20,000

As demonstrated in point 2, I'm confident that Kingsford with the AWPR in place can cater for these average midweek attendances.
Especially when you cinsider that most congestion would be leaving after the game at approx 21:50, well outwith the rush hour

The purpose is to demonstrate it will be able to cope at full use in the worst possible time. They did that for Loirston.

For Kingsford they're using buses at full capacity in their models for an average Saturday game, which is clearly utterly absurd, and as the W@NKS pointed out, this would fall apart instantly. Aberdeen also tried to argue the same as you've said which was scoffed at in the first transport response. Doesn't fit with the whole we need this to grow and boost attendances either. Club have tripped over themselves so many times.

1) It doesn't though. There are something like TWO public transport routes to Kingsford and FIFTY to walking distance from Pittodrie. Been over the parking issue on this thread before. There will only be about 700 spaces within 20 minutes walk of the stadium for the public, compared to 95% parking within 20 minutes of Pittodrie.

2) Been over that above.

3) Fans travelling at rush hour.

Having watched most of the council meeting the other day; it was crazy to see how some public council time and money was wasted on giving certain people airtime to bring about threats of terrorism, fans bringing about world war 3 and how my whole family, ancestries, family owned dinosaurs lived in Westhill for the peace, quiet, tranquility and to remain in the year 1956!! Complete utter nonsense.

I recently got an email reply to my civilised email from NKS, stating that people who live in Kingsford/Westhill areas didn't make the choice to live in area next to a footy stadium unlike those in Pittodrie. Well guess what, I bet they didn't also see the AWPR happening, or a superstore opening, or a business park developing.......times change, they move on and developments happen.

Raise your concerns......fine, but why don't you instead of creating nonsense, scaremongering etc work together with the club, the planners to make this development the best it can be for locals, supporters, club and the city/shire. Because one thing is for sure, this development is happening somewhere and sometime.....and Kingsford is now that chosen place!
