I wasn't expecting a positive result tonight, but by most accounts it was an improved performance, so hopefully we can carry that into the Christmas home fixtures, and then look forward to some new arrivals in the New Year. Even after the recent bad run we're still very much in the mix.
Having not listened to or seen the game it sounded from reading posts on here like we were much better and looking at this one game in isolation there is no shame to come back from Stockport having lost by one goal. A shame an individual error cost us again for the penalty as we may have scraped a draw and the fact it is our third league defeat in a row.
The positive has got to be the performance because if we can go to Stockport play well and receive complimentary comments from Dave Challinor then this bodes well for the second half of the season.
I guess it was written in the stars that Kyle Wootton would score against us.
We might have lost three league games in a row but Doncaster and Morecambe are now two opportunities to put in some performances at home and get back to winning ways.
All the positives aside we just keep giving away terrible goals game after game, if LW had hair he would be tearing it out, positives obviously a decent performance but that's just another defeat on our way to midtable, probably where I would have been so happy with at the start of the season if I'm honest
Last night was a free hit in many ways because of the low expectations after the recent subpar performances. We need to build on it next week, where nothing less than six points will be enough against Doncaster and Morecambe. It’s important that we put in a top performance on Boxing Day and get back to being our old selves again (although a few clean sheets would be most welcome - think we’ve only had two all season).
Interesting to see how Bradford have found their form since that first half mauling against us - now only four points behind with a game in hand. Some on here predicted that revival, but I was definitely not one of them.
pjace, he basically swapped with McGoldrick, and played some lovely one touch passes of varying distances to keep the momentum in the attack. He was also able to carry the ball at pace, usually across the line to bring others into play, as a consequence any shots were from distance, and he will need time to adjust to this, but could be lethal.
