You'd think that the contract would be watertight now we've got serious owners. He knew what any release clause would be when he signed the contract. Plus, those cunts at Man U know what the release clause is but just don't want to pay it.

Edit: In theory and I could be talking out my arse here but couldn't this set the precedent of doing this for player sales. . . We want say Saka, and offer £10 million. Arsenal who have him on a long contact so "no thanks, he'll be £100 million". Can we then take them to arbitration.

I don’t think so because, as said, no-one can TAKE anyone to arbitration. Both parties have to agree to it.
That being the case, Zip, I think we could tell them to f off (by not agreeing yo go to arbitration).

There really isn't a case to answer. I'd hope we still have Nick DeMarco on retainer who will get this thrown out hour 1 of the case.
