There are not that many still going from the 70s/80s that remember the intensity then and speaking to younger fans they just dilike them ... well because they are our rivals ... and many dont have a reason behind it like we used to.
I think Ramondo said last season at home how flat it was with both sets of fans. And many said away it was a bit like after the lord majors show away after the ten man game.
Fester used to be big rivals in the 80s/90s but now that has disappeared too!
Its always goin to be a game of interest but is it what it was?
billy bag eyes has given it that little extra spice in recent seasons along with a few judas' commons, earnshaw, camp and the like.
don't forget when forest were languishing in league 1 and before that us being in the premier league in the jim smith days we went a while without playing so some rivalry was lost there.
so are you breaking your sil

Don't agree with those who say its more important to Forest than us. This is an important game, and will be very tight IMO. I would settle for a draw to keep them at arms length.

It's a good point and no it's not the same. In the old days the rivalry was more about off the pitch stuff. That's really where the intensity came from on match day. It's still there a bit but it's more about a football score now..
To be honest what is unusual about our Derby is the links between the clubs. Ex players ex managers, I don't know of a

With they way we are playing if you don't win I would start to worry.it will be a backs to the wall game for us,and I think we will be lucky to get a draw.reid won't be playing,if you seen his reaction to having to come off you would know he won't be playing on sat.he was devastated.

I think that was said just for us fans so the moaners didn't kick off again.when a player has a hissy on the pitch you know something isn't right.looked like someone had stole the last burger off his plate.

I'm 31 and I love these games, they make my season. They are the first two fixtures I look for without fail! I don't think it really matters whether you understand how the rivalry began or not (although obviously I understand the whole Brian Clough thing!?!), I suspect most fans of rival clubs can't or don't care to be honest, with a few notable exceptions. It spices my season up no end though and bestows bragging rights and some heated banter with my mates and lady for another six or seven months. That's enough to be going on with isn't it!?!

For the first time in years I am absolutely certain we are going to gey beat. We are missing key players but that aside we have absolutely no confidence in the team what so ever. Billys tactics lately have been baffling. I think you are going to have too much for us going forward and we are going to be no threat at all at the opposite end.
Ewe horrible lot 3 - 0 Us.
