I don't understand why the patron Saint of Poland and Lithuania would ever have anything to do with England. I suppose you could say the same about George, but his cult has been mentioned often in England for a thousand years and he has been protector of the British (well English actually) royal family for more than 500 years.
I would suggest either Boniface (Germany's patron Saint) or Patrick would be more suitable for our patron (both being English). St David is one of not too many patron Saints who actually comes from the country he is patron Saint of (Andrew has nowt to dee with scothland of course).
Or is it just that you think we shouldert of an holiday for England's patron, but Polish and Lithuanian workers should get an holiday
