I believe it is Toronto, but I cannot say for sure. The person who originally posted it was also unsure just that it was a major Canadian city (Toronto is the largest followed by Montreal, then Vancouver, and it is not the last two).Quote:

Three small earthquakes in the county of Rutland last week. For our overseas visitors, they were near Oakham, not far from Leicester.

In 1912 a hurricane ripped through the prairie city of Regina, Saskatchewan, leaving a path of devastation in its wake. many of the wooden houses were demolished though brick buildings fared the onslaught better. The city forced those rendered homeless by the disaster to pay for the nightly use of cots set up in schools and city parks. It also required homeowners to pay for the removal of rubble from their homes. Debris was cleaned up quickly. it destroyed many of the storage buildings. The CPR Roundhouse was stripped to the rafters, and boxcars were pulled from the tracks and hurtled into the air."
Damage from the tornado is estimated to be F4 on the Fujita scale. The tornado killed 28 people, injured hundreds, and left 2500 people homeless, out of a population of about 30,213 (in 1911). Around 500 buildings were destroyed or damaged.
Famous British actor and film star, Boris Karloff, was an aspiring thespian at the time and was touring with his company at the time the hurricane hit
