He may hold onto it a bit too long, but you're making out he's hurting the team, which he isn't.
Forest away, Ibe and Calero came on, Calero didn't touch the ball yet Ibe made a huge difference. I'm not saying I don't like Calero or I don't want him to get his chance, I'm merely saying Ibe offers us an outlet, who's confident enough to beat his man when needed. He scored a very important goal vs. Reading, so it's hard to ******* the lad. With Ward and Dawkins out, I'm delighted Ibe's here. Can you not see how talented he is?
Nah, he's not my scapegoat. I just criticise when it's right to do so. Grant was actually more accurate throwing the ball to half-way with a broken ankle, rather than his usually ****e kicking.
Ibe can't see a simple pass. Obviously he has the potential, but i don't think he has a brain. If he's here to **** about trying to impress Rodgers, then he can sit on

I see what you mean about holding on to it for too long, that's the sign of a quality player, having the vision to pick out the right pass and the right time to pass it. In my opinion vision is one of the hardest things to improve, you either have it or you don't. If he had the vision of Will Hughes he'd be one of the best players at Liverpool and certainly wouldn't be loaned out to the Championship.
Some people expect too much of an 18 year old who is playing in the second division.
Agree with this, but i'm not expecting anything from an 18 year old. I'm judging him as an adult player - one we have for 9 months. He's fourth choice winger at best. The next Sterling? I don't think so. S

Harsh critism IMO Dave. I really dont think his performances have been that bad. He is still only a few games into getting in the team, whereas the others have played many games. Lets give him time and judge him after 10 or more games
As I say, his pace and strength will be a proper asset and his decision making will improve I am sure with game time and coaching. I would expect on equal game time, Ibe will get more goals and assists that Dawkins. Now whether the team would be more or less effective, who knows. And I reiterate that since he came into the team, results have been very good, so hard to claim he has weakened us??
By the way, Omar played well last night, but a tidy performance without being a beacon of light. I thought Russell was easily MotM as he always looked our greatest threat down the right with Christie (who was also great again). Against a team packing the defence, Russell more than any other looked to have the key to pick the lock, which he eventually did
re: What's your views on Ibe?
Steve put Ibe in after 2 very successful performances, where he out-performed Dawkins and Russell. Steve doesn't play anyone because he has to, see Mascarell, Thorne, Bamford. Ibe's in the team on merit.
That said, we rotated our wingers very well last season, and I expect us to do so again.
re: What's your views on Ibe?
For me one of the most important contributions from Ibe is the effect on Ward, Russell, Dawkins.
They will be saying to themselves "I can do that...its my place he`s challenging"
Ward has really stepped up in the past few weeks and now Russell is beginning to do the same after a slow start. Johnny gives you everything and thats the difference i reckon between loanees and our own.
Dawkins i like but for some reason annoys me because i find him frustrating!
re: What's your views on Ibe?
Mascarell was the best player in the league at DM last night with stats better than Thorne.
I'm not being harsh. We're top of the league with serious ambitions to go up automatically. He currently isn't good enough. The results have been good, but we drew with Millwall without scoring or creating, beat Bournemouth after he went off at halftime, and got lucky at Reading and Blackpool in parts.
It's like he's just seen grass for the first time and has to keep staring at it.

One in the cup and one as a sub. Which is where i think he should be. Bring him on for the last 20 to run at tired legs. Dawkins looked like Messi against Fulham coming on late. I think if Ward and Dawkins were fit, he wouldn't get a start for a while.

We'll have to agree to disagree Dave mate. Before his introduction to the side, people we complaining Dawkins was too predictable, saying he always cut in. Even if you don't like his directness or decision making, you can't say he's predictable.
As for Mascarell, I was very impressed. Stats wise I don't care too much about, as Thorne's who demeanor and presence on the pitch counted for so much. Still, Omar did an excellent job.

I'm looking forward to discussing this in 10-15 games times. hopefully 'currently' will be the operative word.
