'A huge surprise', TMDS...two new mascots...is that what you call 'a huge surprise'...really?
Think I'd prefer to settle for a pleasant FT 'surprise'...Derby's first home win would do nicely, especially as we'll be into October.

Personally I've never seen the point of the mascot, (one two or three). I know they used to go to schools but I understand DCFC charge for that now. The half time shoot out maybe entertains one or two in the East stand and I guess the 10 kids involved enjoy it, but is it worth all the hype Rammy seems to get!
I used to quite like the original (slightly sinister) Rammie - for all the good the Americans did for the club, the move to a 'disney' style Rammie should never be forgiven....Mel is on dangerous ground if he is responsible for the re-introduction of a female version ;-)
Burton have Mr and Mrs Brewer as their mascots and they are brilliant entertainers keep the crowd going and often hand sweets to the crowd as a little treat and i think it will be a great addition for our club to boost the atmosphere even more by bringing in 2 additional mascots to fire us up on match days.
I think mascots have their place. Younger kids like them.
The one I find a bit odd, is Bradford City's 'City Gent'. Not a costume per se, just a slightly stout bloke in their kit, wearing a bowler and carrying a briefcase and umbrella.
Good grief, he does mean it and isn't taking the *********. You will not be surprised to learn that I disagree with you and I find the whole mascot thing totally annoying Americanised BS: but as alluded to above, I am over the age of 10 so its obviously not aimed at me.Quote:

Now if Mr and Mrs Brewer gave out free pints, that would be a completely different thing!
Roger i bet you would take any free give away if it's put on your plate even if it was a free season ticket. Also mascots help out with charity fundraises and school events and travel to every match not a bad job if your a football fan.
Suppose he could hardly dress up as a c0*k...sorry, 'bantam', at Bradford, Anywho ;-)
He did look a bit of a.... bantam...
