When Jacob first came to Derby, he didn't tear up many trees. I defended him based on the not had time to settle, new role in a different system etc etc. Eventually, improvement came but you never really got the feeling that he would, or even could, take control of a game like we have seen Hughes do regularly.
He is back to the poor form of those early days and needs to step up or make way. Nothing against the lad but we need to start showing players that if they don't perform, others will get the spot.
