He wasn't bought for speed and he certainly can hold the ball up when necessary.
He's also a much better technical footballer than some people give him credit for.
His temperament is clearly suspect but compared to players like Costa, he's a saint.

As long as he learns that he's under scrutiny in every way, on and off the ball and will be dealt with in a more severe way than many players of bigger moneybag clubs would, then we might actually get to see the real Mitrovic show up.

i dont think you could gamble on his temeprment

you say when gayle is injured we have mitrovic and the first chance he gets to prove himself he lets himself down as well as the club

No doubt he's let himself down and that's something he has to be aware of if he wants any real chance to prove himself.
This lad is what I would call diamond in the process of being cut and polished.
He's as old fashioned as they come in this day and age of football strikers.

The lad is a defence worrier.
I rate him highly but his strengths have to be played to and if they are, he will be fairly prolific, I believe.
Whether he does that with us or another team that does play to his strengths, remains to be seen.

I'm not interested in what supermac thinks.

I would take note of what Supermac says regarding rating Mitro

I have never seen Mitro hold the ball up in fact the dead opposite its like a ping pong ball when it's played into him

Yes Costa has a terrible temperament but don't even mention him in the same breath as Mitro. Costa is a proper centre forward and scores goals.

we buy a 20 yr old for £13m and expect him to play like £30m 27 yr old strikers.

we bought raw potential, the lad is an honest hard working pro.

Oh I did read the original post and I also believe that Rafa doesn't rate him. If a decent offer came in this window he would be gone I would trust Rafas assessment of Mitro above anyone in here

We paid 13 million fir him 3 seasons ago and till now he ain't done anything to impress me, in fact his last sending off totally depressed me.
