When I say compete I mean as a regular contender for competing and not a quick sniff and a high followed by a lot of cold turkey.

Like you said, the clearest and best thing is to play fair. A level playing field, so to speak.
We know football has been sold on that score so all we have left is a well run club that sustains itself but promises nothing more than what is put out on the pitch, or we get in an elite owner that will promise that all avenues will be scoured in order to gain success...even if that success is plastic.

Like I said earlier. I dream of the excitement of going up against the top teams. I want the Barcelona days and the flirts with the title.
I know that the only realistic chance of it happening is a Sheikh or similar.
I'd much prefer the fair play option but that requires greedy people to become honest and upstanding and in the rich persons money world, it does not exist.

but surely that would be covered in some part by the loan repayment

when he went for ground renaming etc every one went balistic

so we have pitch side and shirt revenue

it is more than obvious the club is being set up for a sale whilst ash uses none of his own money

it did no good as the whinging fans scared any potential sponsors away

we need to embrace change
just like west ham ,arsenal manu re city etc etc etc

we will never compete with one mans money and still wanting to keep the name the history etc etc

football is ruining all that with those that want to strive for the top all the time

why not be happy with what you have

there were no potential sponsors

same as all the other stuff, sports direct advertisement was to show sponsors potential too

as it happems i'm on the fence with ashley. I dislike him and what he has done immensely - but i'm also wary about who might come in in his place. it does worry me. - not that i can do much about it.

the best scenario would be for ashley to learn a few lessons along the way, like the majority would - and run the footballing side of the business properly - and stop frigging gambling.
