I've just read it and it sounds a bit fabricated to me. Howard, Hassell, Devaney, Heckingbottom, Kay, Richards and Hayes never lacked effort. They all were fit too and excellent professionals.
If there was anybody that looked unfit and like he couldn't be bothered it was Mccindoe.
That side obviously had a great craic going on. A strong dressing room. Ok they might have liked to live it up a bit but they performed on the pitch. That's all that matters. It's always a good sign of a strong dressing room when a goal is scored and the whole team celebrates together. We saw that in abundance that season as we did with the 96/97 team. Spirit is key to success with a club like ours. I think that's been proven over the years
Biggest lossers were Shuker, Mcphail n' Burns. I think Burns was better than Togwell and taking Shukers contract offer back was criminal. I don't think we'd av' struggled like we did after bright start with those three in and around the 11. Nardiello is quoted as saying the treatment of Shuker was his main reason for going to QPR.
