Yes Millwall very tough game they are physical and get the ball forward very quick They won't be standing and admiring us that's for sure In the last month the by beaten Leeds Sheff U Boro and drawn at Villa. That looks pretty impressive to me
Indeed, I would settle for 1-0 against them. 7-0, however, would be even more acceptable ;)
Lolz I seemed to have touched a nerve.
Yes Warburton has not made us relegation fodder but little else.
Looking at our Greek owners record, if we lose at Preston, I can't see him staying.
Anyway Derby are well course for a really memorable season.
Are they though Rom? Most Rams’ fans have felt similar optimism for the last five Decembers only for it to all end in tears.
I do think this side has more ‘backbone’ and greater strength in depth though and it’ll be interesting to see what happens in the up coming ‘window’.
As for Forest...I think it would be a travesty to sack Warburton...stupidest thing since sacking O’Driscoll five years ago. When you look at what he took over last Spring, Warburton has done well.
Agree I think Warburton is doing a decent job rescuing a sinking ship.
As for us I actually hope not much happens in window - we need a stable January if we can complete our traditional good December. We have depth and just a bit of tinkering, unless a silly bid comes in for Martin, is needed to get a bit of width cover.
January dealings have destabilised us in the past so lets hope for a Nontinkerman Rowett
This window is a conunundrum. Do we look ahead and make a couple of purchases/loans with a view to a purchase with one eye on the PL next season (yes, that would be a gamble) so that we have less business to do in the summer should we make promotion OR do we merely fine tune what we have in order to gaim promotion and worry about shipping all the not for PL purpose deadwood out in the summer and replacing them with a lot of expensive "stars" (thereby destroying the team ethic GR has rebuilt).
To me the sensible thing would be to fine tune the squad with two PL ready players but only if those players will buy in to the GR ethos. I would make it loans with a view to purchase. Who? Which positions? No idea. Although I do think we need a "Hughes type" who has that pass to unlock a defence. Alternatively we could buy a class centre half and play Keogh in midfield ;)
On top of that I would not hesitate to unload a few. Anya and Shackell are not going to get a look in. Bent has just 6 months left on his contract and won't get another.
Feel free to add mor outs to my list.
