That is/was a good sensible thread read! And Sax continues his ‘good behaviour’ 😉 excellent.
Agree with all points put forward.
I am confident that we can expect TM to get the majority of his decisions right.
I fully agree that the feel good factor has to be nurtured very carefully as that is what has brought back ‘off the park’ the FG within the support contingent.
Having said that, quite right we have to strengthen off the back of last season and that means individuals being discarded, but that’s the nature of the game and most pros will not kick up too much over it.
I am like Champs in that just maybe Samuel will kick in this season , if he’s given the chance, as there were glimpses later on where (despite my long term doubts) he did show some promising stuff.

This Rhodes idea doesn't seem to be going away. I suppose we all associate him with the problem-time.
I know someone who is a computer-science academic. He is brilliant in a very narrow field within that subject. He's pretty clueless in other respects. Rhodes was a bit like that as a footballer. Almost the opposite of someone like Bennett, who couldn't be called "brilliant", but who can turn his hand to anything. (Personally, I think Bennett could be the answer to the second keeper debate).
Definitely mixed feelings about Rhodes. Also, he doesn't fit the model TM has been talking about: early-twenties; eager to learn; on the way up.
Probably just more paper-talk.
