Geoff in fairly sure it's been confirmed he's going but I may be wrong Not sure about the scouting can't see many world cup players wanting to play in the Championship

Id have thought some of the squad members of say Panama or Tunisia might like that chance, both of whom are in England's group so he could get to see in action.

I've no issue with him being in Russia surrounded by some of the best contacts in the game.

Half the sides there will have players that would jump of the chance at playing in England even at championship level.

Sides like Poland have numerous technically gifted players plying their trade around the lesser leagues of Europe.

I wanted Mark Warburton or Wassall, at a push maybe Dean Smith

But the only reason Mels done this is because of the season tickets, and the publicity behind it which might bring investors to the club, it could end up being great if Lampard brings in the right backroom staff, not to mention the contacts he has during his time with Chelsea and Man City, will likely get freebies when it comes to loaning their young talent, which I'm not against its essentially what Wolves did last season but they were a success in the end.

I still think Mark Warburton would have been a better appointment IF we are under austerity, this just smells like more pushing the boat out.

Have to admit...when I saw your name I expected a full on rant...but I think that’s very fair DCFCA. Warburton would have been a good shout, as would O’Neil, Cook and Smith imo.
Despite his lack of experience Lampard does have other qualities and I do expect him to be able to attract good players to the club.
Here’s hoping anyway...also agree with Manx there will be players from at least half the WC teams who would happily play for an ambitious Championship side so Lampard’s time in Russia may not be wasted.

He was never my first choice i thought it was to big a job for him but I'm warming to it now Probably what we need new ideas and tactics We have some talented players who we don't always get the best out of because of tactics Reading about him likes players to be fit and work hard So there will be some players in this squad who have to change

Will we get austerity though? Personally, I don't think Lamps would come for a pittance and no war chest........... there will be cash. Maybe not a great amount but there will be cash.
