Over the years the fans have got on his back more than any other player I can remember. Not just on forums but at the games. There is a reason for this.
He lacks pace and is pretty poor in the tackle.
He picks the mud off the bottom of his boots a lot.
He can hit a ball very hard and has scored a few cracking goals and a couple of important ones.
The penalty he missed at Villa Park was the poorest penalty I ever remember seeing. Perhaps he realised I was sat in the Witton Road surrounded by villa fans. We went on to win anyway and I survived.
He scored 2 late penalties v Liverpool to win us the match.
Most of our managers over the last ten years have regularly selected him.
We have had some poor managers over the last ten years.

My first game at the Albion was in the early 90's when I was a pup. And I've not seen a better crosser or set piece taker at the club than him in the last 25 years.

And our most successful period in modern times has come in the last 10 years, with him at the club.

I agree and he does not deserve abuse. That said he’s not good enough now and should not be in the side as better options. It was a poor decision to bring him on Saturday.

I don't think he makes our first XI anymore, but I think he's a good squad player. And I thought it was the right decision at the time to bring him on, because Field had just had a forearm smash to the head and he was looking a bit groggy. When you looked at the options on our bench, Brunt was the natural replacement for him.

That's because when he's on the pitch he takes every set piece.Nobody else gets a look in. We scored off a corner against Wednesday. Ironically he didn't take it and he scored it. Lol.
He's not been a bad player but pales in comparison to say Gera, Koumas. Now his so called wand has stopped working. What exactly does he offer.
One thing you cannot fault him for is commitment and the desire to still play football and earn his money. Unlike some. Step forward James Morrison.

He has been my favourite Albion player for years, but even i know it's time he went.
But the blame surely lies not with Brunty but the bloke who keeps picking him every week?
Do people expect Brunt to say sorry i don't want to play?
Brunt cares more about the club than so called fans favourites who can't get out of the door quick enough.

Al you might remember my reaction on here when Big Dave was appointed, i am sure Albionic does. I love the bloke to bit's, a cult hero, a really nice guy and one who wants to do well for the club.
But he has been taken for a sucker. The club never intended on giving him any support, he has been hung out to dry, and he will take the can back when it goes boobs up. It's an old Peace trick, divert the blame away from the owner.
What club with any ambition gives the job to someone who has never managed at any level before?
The reason he got the job was because he was cheap, available, and the club was frightened of being labelled racist if he didn't get it.
While he is here i will give him my full support and i hope for all our sakes i hope he proves me wrong. But looking at him he appears short of intelligence and personality.
Harsh maybe, but i believe a managers personality reflects on the clubs style and panache.
Albion need a manager like Atkinson, or dare i say it Nuno, these people have a contagious passion.
Big Dave? Nah.

Big Dave? Nah.

I had a nice girl working for me but sadly, she was useless, and had to go!! Same with Big Dave - lovely guy, cult hero but that does not make a good manager. Sometimes nice people also get taken advantage of by their staff. A good manager is one that communicates well with staff - keeps a healthy distance - shows no favors to friends/chums and is ruthless if needs to be. Mick summed up Big Dave well - tactically inept. Yes we are scoring a load of goals but leaking them like a sinking ship. You will remember Mowbray well - I would have him back over Big Dave now! That's just my humble view.

A ruthless manager would also have given Jenkins/Lai a blue print of what's needed if we get promotion - I can't see that DM would have done this, or if he has, whether anybody would have sat up and taken much notice.

In summary - I pray Big Dave succeeds but if we are not within striking distance of automatic by mid March - a ruthless decision needs to be made. Not the usual Albion decision, where any action would be too late!
