For me it's Wolves in the 2002/2003 League Cup at Millmoor.
We were 3-1 down at I think 78 mins and looked out. We managed to get it back to 3-2 and then to 3-3 in injury time.
We then went 4-3 up in extra time.
Rob Scott managed to score one of the greatest own goals of all time with the last kick of extra time so we went to penalties and won.
One of the most entertaining games I've seen. When I went to Uni I became friends with a Wolves fan who was also at the game and recalled despite their defeat it was one of the most entertaining games he'd seen too.
It's got to be 3-1 at Millmoor vs Arsenal, they scored first early on & I said to my dad shall we go home now, then Finney 2,Gwyther.I think this was Malcolm McDonalds last game.
Think you’ll find big tony signed for us in 91.. and I can’t recall the game you’ve mentioned?
Strange that nobody has mentioned the S****horpe game .. 4.1 after the first leg.. wining the 2nd leg 5 nil.. Also the Derby comeback under Colin. Morcambe losing 3 nil at half time and drawing 3 all
Game for me was vs Blackpool think we were loosing 2-1 and billy mercer was stretched off ,Nicky law went in net can’t recall who scored the equaliser (dez hazel?)...but Ian banks scored the greatest last minute goal ever!! Right rocket
Ah, some great memories. Id forgotten some of those matches until reading this thread. 😀
I recall the Arsenal game (one of my first). Entering the Tivoli with my Dad, bustling our way to the back (petrified I might lose him), and being lifted up to sit on "the shelf". Dont care what anybody says, a big game at Millmoor under the lights was special. The noise, the banter, the smells (cigars, bovrils, pies, ohhh the pies), the crackling atmosphere. It was unique. I miss the Tivoli.
And that Wolves match! Lol, just lol. What a game. Purely in terms of entertainment ( that own goal 😂 ), it has to be right up there.
Fantastic memories my fellow Millers. This is when this site excels, when we all realise that, despite our differences, we all have that one stupid little thing in common: an irrational yet unshakable love for a poxy little northern football team called Rotherham United FC. Once a Miller, always a Miller!
Keep the memories coming.
