I have put a query on the Moderator Board and also sent an e-mail to one of the Admins.
Hopefully I will hear something soon. As soon as I do I will post what is said.

I have had a reply from the Admin person I contacted for help.
He could not understand why you were banned either. The only thing he can think of is that your IP address matched a banned member although that in itself would not usually be enough.
I have been asked to tell you this was an error and to also pass on apologies that it happened in the first place.
