Well, I might be optimistic but I don’t think overly so. Surely the club have not spent over 100M just to fight a relegation battle and their aspirations are high. No, Im sticking to my guns and giving a 7th place finish. I know how to get their after all. I finish in that position every year in the VM fantasy table ;D
That said, mid table would do just fine.
We need to be sharp from the off against Spurs, Norwich looked a bit like a rabbit in the headlights against Liverpool, the speed of play took them a bit by surprise. This is where John Terry will earn his money. We need to be fast and slick, no sloppy passing. I'm very optimistic that we have a team which can compete, but I temper this with the fact we have been here before, when we played moneyball lottery with all the french kids and went down like a lead balloon. This team is a different animal, even the new players have people they have played with before, and there is a great team spirit and work ethic. I feel we can finish between 6th -10th, and hope to finish first... but I'm still bloody terrified!
