This is sadly 100% correct. Unforgivable cowardly capitulation and dereliction of duty when we had them over a barrel.

Peculiar thinking if you don't mind my saying so.

Whilst we are all concerned about our team, our team is is only a viable entity if we have opponents to play. It is in the interest of all the participating teams that all teams play to the same rules and are treated equally. Therefore if there is a suspicion that one team is getting preferential treatment by a corrupt governing body then surely that has to be something not only to be discussed but if there is any justification in the allegation, forceably pursued.
